    Not any more

Apparently they had some trouble enforcing the law. People not turning up for court dates and things like that.

It's any day, it's either within the city walls or from the city walls.

There's also a lane there where it's still technically legal to whip your wife for certain things, it might be adultery though I've a vague idea there was something pretty innocuous too.

After a quick google, it's actually called "WHIP-MA-WHOP-MA-GATE", they used to flog adulterers there but can't find any reference to still being allowed flog your wife.

There seem to be various versions of the Scotman one: after dark, after midnight, on Sunday, any day except Sunday, with a bow and arrow, if he's carrying a bow and arrow.
Here's a link to one, with some other odd laws (in the UK):

    - illegal to die in the houses of parliament (I heard that before, I think it's because you're then technically entitled to a state funeral, though that could be nonsense)
    - women in Liverpool can go topless, but only if they work in a tropical fish shop  (second source says it's not true)
    - it's illegal "for a commoner's pet to have carnal knowledge of an animal belonging to the monarch"
    - illegal to eat a mince pie on Christmas day (thanks to Cromwell)
    - it's treason to put a stamp bearing the monarch's head on upside down.

    Also, from here:

    The policeman one:
In the UK, a pregnant woman can legally relieve herself anywhere she wants, including in a policeman's helmet.
Also, in Scotland, if someone knocks on your door and requires the use of your toilet, you must let them enter.

There's a few more in there.

I did read somewhere that going topless is no longer indecent exposure in Canada, some woman appealled it on grounds that it was sexist.

As far as I know you cant get arrested by the Gardai on the grounds of Trinity College.
And theres a 400 year old rule knocking about the statute books that goes something along the lines of:-
One is permitted to drink porter during ones final exams provided one is wearing ones sword and scabbard !

Fair to say that flag hanging rules are not that stupid as they seem at first glance,as you could end up with the Ivory coast flag.
    Are you sure about that?

    Irish flag upside down https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/flags/ei-flag.gif
