maybe you and this person had different placing in the merit pool, or different background. Maybe she was just vetted really quickly for some unknown reason. You could really work yourself up trying to think of reasons for it but at the end of the day we are all guessing and only people in recruitment know what fate awaits us all.

Hope you hear soon, your head must be turned with it all.

Oh dear I put my vetting in during Jan and did my medical in March. I had hoped I'd know soon but if people are waiting a year I guess it could be ages yet. :( On the plus side we've got this far which is no mean feat :)

Ah excuse me? Havent you heard of the 50:50 selection. There are plenty of catholics on this forum who dont seem to have a problem with the PSNI. Only a few bigotted people have a problem. If you have such a problem stay off the PSNI recruitment board and get back to your united Ireland poll!!!!!

the only bigots here are the people in the sectarian police force in the north of ireland ! PSNI/RUC NO difference

you want a more elaborate post? fine by me.

the forum is for people who wish to join the PSNI. it is not a discussion about the history of the RUC or any events related to it.
I am a catholic from northern ireland and it is my ambition to join one of the best police forces in the world. If you have a problem with that then i suggest you take your biggoted views elsewere as they are not wanted here

Havn't been on this in age's with A-Level's etc. .

I was hoping some of you guy's would have got some good news by now in regards to the IST but unfortunatley thats not the case so good luck in the next few days with that and keep your fingers crossed!

Had an interview with the support team in Belfast last week for the role player position in the police college (£10 per/hour;)) which is part time for when I start uni.

I have to wait on my security clearance so when that goes through (hope it will because i've a clean record) I have an induction in the Police college.

So maybe I will see some of you guys who are training at some point.

It will give me a good insight into the police college etc for the next three years. I know it will probably take me a few goes (years) until I get in so by then I will get my degree :D

    IST on Wednesday. .

still havn't done any mock papers yet :o

Ok Paddy, your views are duly noted.
If you wish to vent your anger about the PSNI or RUC I suggest you create your own thread. As you can read from the heading of this forum, it is for members of the public wishing to communicate to each other about joining the force.
I'm sure an adult like yourself will see sense and agree that going about this in the way that you are is just pointless.

All the best in the future,

    Regards,

    MC

what an idiot kildare paddy is,coming onto a 'recruitment' thread questioning the motives of men and woman of joining a police force that holds the needs of a community first hand.Perhaps before he begins to criticise the old forces of coercion he should look at his state and look at their role in the inception of the RUC when alot could have been done to make it the souths own force, words abandon me for his stupidity when it comes to the RUC/PSNI issue.

im a catholic from derry and have no problem venting my anger at the problems our society holds, however it must be said that the emergency services are most certainly not one of these,i have nothing but positives to say for the PSNI and their allegiance to 'fair' policing and their attitude to the greater community not mindless religious segregation, the positives i have seen in the PSNI are what have inspired me to join such a force in an attempt to help push such a contentious issue beyond discussion, however we continue to have mindless jingoism shining through that reflects nothing true for the community and only portrays what the bigots aims to.Paddy, perhaps when looking at the role of the police in Northern Ireland you should look beyond the information you see on youtube and perhaps look at real reports about crime and deviance. This country has had to deal with nonsensical attitudes like yours for too long and the fact you represent nothing in the community of northern ireland is a representation of this, perhaps you should look to the problems within your own state before criticising those of others.

sorry for getting involved in that nonsense but stupidity like his annoys me to the highest degree.

    Hi everyone.
First off Id like to say well dont to everyone who has made it all the way through, and to those still waiting... I can only imagine how you feel.
I done my IST for c13 but missed out, now less than a year later my IST is on tuesday.
Firstly, I am aware of the cheating policy here and in no way do I want to jeopordisze that, nor do I want to pass by cheating, I'd much prefer getting through off my own steam. Im simply looking for advice and a few tips, so please answer what you can. To those that have done c14 IST:

How does it differ from last year? I understand Part A has been changed (last year they read out vehicle details and we had to match them on paper).
Where would you recommend spending most of your time, or should each question get an equal share?
If you could turn back time what would you have done differently?
    Any other tips or ideas?

Again, just to reiterate, im not trying to get any answers or cheat in anyway just a few pointers. PSNI I respect your moderation and you do a great job here, so feel free to edit or delete my post as you see fit.

To KildarePaddy; nothing. If everyone ignores him he will become bored and go away in time, although I would imagine his account has been deleted and IP banned.

    Thanks guys talk soon,

    Rider.

    Hello all,

It's been a while since I've been able to log on, there just isn't the time!

I remember reading PSNI's comments about having no life during the training and boy was he right!

I'm just about to start week 9 and loving every minute off it.

Good luck to all those still awaiting word and also to those going through the current intake.

If anyone has any questions feel free to pm me.

    Martin.

    Hey all!
I (finally!) have my IST tomorrow, more than a month after I applied. The waiting has been shocking, though judging by PapaYankeeGirl's posts, the waiting hasn't even begun! Anyways.. for those waiting on results in the post, my fingers are crossed for you all for the postman tomorrow. :)
    Wish me luck for tomorrow!!
    Doug
