I finally solved the +353xxxx issue with texts coming through and not recognizing the contatct name. I uninstalled & reinstalled AppSupport Patch aswell as the region patch but none worked. Then i noticed in Tweaks (1.1.4) there is an extra AppSupport Patch 1.1.4 which says its specifically for those of us where the original one didnt work. Downloaded this & switched phone on & off & hey presto problem solved. All texts that come through match up with the contact name! Joy!

For those making and receiving a lot of calls, like me, cos I'm using my work phone sim in my iPhone, there's a nice little mod to the 'call_history.db' file.
When I first got the iPhone I saw that the call log was 100 entries. Fine me thinks at first. But I soon realised how easy it was to bring this to it's limit, (in two days sometimes!!). I bought 'Megaphone' so that I could keep a record of calls but it was a bit of a pain to remember to manually save the call log every 2 or 3 days.
So SSH into your phone and replace the 'call_history.db' file with the file in this thread -
(but best to backup the original)

I'm up to 365 at the mo and all seems fine. I put on the 'unlimited' version but further down in the thread there's a 1000 limit version.

Can anyone tell me exactly what I should do to get my 1.1.1 iPhone upgraded to the hacked 1.1.4 firmware - can I just use the Ziphone tool or do I need to do some crazy upgrading/downgrading first?

Hello,
does anyone know what the story is with unlockthatihone, ive had a prob with my camera now for months, i emailed them got a reply after about 3 weeks, replyed detailing the problem and that was almost 3 months ago! ive sent them quite a few emails since then but still no reply!

Hi everyone!
I've just bought an iphone and unlocked it with iLiberty+. Easy as anything - even an idiot can do it (such as myself!).

But I've encountered another problem, and that is that because my phone is 1.1.4 and I'm using O2 SpeakEasy, it's sending random texts to 9011. Think I've wasted about €10 so far, and O2 don't want to know!! (Surprise surprise!).
Anyway, I can confirm that I have switched off EDGE, and that has made no difference, so I think the consensus is that I have to downgrade to 1.1.3 - but the question is how??
I've trawled through this board and the net to find how to do this, but found much conflicting advice and am more confused than ever.
If someone out there on the board could tell me a difinitive source of how to go about doing this, I'd be very grateful.

Unlocked 2 phones yesterday for friends using iLiberty. It installed Cydia rather than Installer? What is the difference between the two? I didnt get a chance to look at it, can you add sources cos i couldnt find where to do that. Also, can i installer installer as well? If so, how?

there is an option in the advanced panel in iliberty+ to install installer and Bsd Subsystem

Have the option to use either iliberty+ on windows or pwnage on mac. Which is the best/easiest to use?

For those of you that have used either, what link did you use (for instructions). Seems that iclarified has some straightforward guides.

I prefer pwnage but iliberty is probably easier you should get a tutorial for both on www.hackthatphone.com

Cydia is supposed to be better it replaces bsd subsystem with Debian already included which is better than the BSD subsystem you normally download via installer password is fixed etc.
No way to add sources in cydia but you can do it manually via terminal

You can get installer by going back to iliberty+ and select it in the advanced page and run it again

It should have stopped by now

But if you still want to downgrade download a copy of 1.1.3 then hold shift and click restore browse to where you have 1.1.3 and click ok

You will probably get a 1015 error just use ibrickr to reboot the phone out of recovery mode

However you will still have the 1.1.4 baseband 04.04.05 there are tools in the installer for erasing and replacing the baseband
Although in theory the 04.04.05 will still be unlocked so it might work when you jailbreak but it might also send 9011 sms again

to jailbreak it iliberty+ will not work i think the old iliberty will or independence if you have a mac

Thanks for that - managed to get it downgraded evenutually. iLiberty+ did work once I'd downgraded and unbricked etc.
I suspected that it may stop sending the messages - but I didn't want to take the risk - I'd be bankrupt by next week!!!
Hope when the new 1.2.0 version comes out, that the same problem won't crop up. I wonder whether this is a deliberate thing by O2, or just (for them at least) a useful coincidence???

I installed an app called Kate this morning and its causing me big problems. My touch screen doesnt work on every app, so i cant uninstall the App through installer.

Ive tried many restarts but no matter what i do it hasnt help.

Anyone any advice please? phone worked fine before hand!

Im on an unlocked iphone 1.1.4.

Kate is the new name for the application 'Caterpiller'.. lots of problem with the new version.

More complaints here

But try this.. one of a couple of recommended fixes:

1. Connect your iPhone to your computer, preferably removing the Dock so you can actually hold the phone comfortably.

2. Get on your home screen and find the Kate application icon.

3. Click and HOLD this icon until all icons begin squiggling around the screen.

4. Hopefully your "Kate" icon has an "X" on the top left corner of it, which is there to delete or uninstall the application. Click this.

5. Kate will ask you if you would like to uninstall or delete...go ahead and click Uninstall, then it will give you a set of instructions on how to uninstall, and also a 2nd uninstall button you'll have to pick.

STOP HERE.

6. Leave your iPhone plugged in and on this last menu, and just set it down on the table. After a minute or two, my phone randomly synced again with my computer, and the phone was back to normal again.

One thing I'd recommend to everyone is NEVER, EVER install a third party app without looking it up elsewhere first such as Apple iPhone School.

Lesson learned! as it was an Installer featured app, and there was a fee for the full version, i figured it would be the least likely to cause problems!!

anyone else having issues with weather and stocks not updating over either edge or wireless??? Was working fine yesterday, all other connectivity is fine...
