I'd only consider eBay if looking for a second hand Iphone. Makes no sense to buy a new one on eBay. How can any seller charge less than the shops?
American ones though - $499 rrp for a 16gb one there so saving a bit on buying one here

Don't forget customs charges / VAT. You're looking at around €75, payable to An Post before the release the package.

Yeah I suppose, best value at them moment looks to be the £169 for an 8gb, might just settle for this, if I get my hands on one before they run out

Just read on AVforums that Carphone warehouse are giving out £100 credit note for their store to anyone who bought an 8gb iphone at full price in the 28 days prior to the price drop.

Just in case some of you here did.

Ahoy folks, Haven't checked in on this thread in a while...
Heading up to Belfast on Sunday - where's the best place to pick up an iPhone there with least amount of questions asked? 8gig is just 169 pounds now right?

    Cheers! :)

Checked today for you in the first CPW I came to -the one in Donegall Place, just beside Queens Arcade. They still have "several" and will be open tomorrow. A quick computer check revealed that other branches still have some for sale too, so no problems just yet but you might want to phone first.

cause ziphone does things to your iphone that it does not need to do to unlock/jailbreak it.

i won't go into detail about what it does as it's been mentioned previously on the thread but by using ziphone you may run into problems when new software comes out.

CPW up north won't sell to Fenians :) They are much more strict about the signing up to the contract, credit check etc.

I tried to get one with CPW in Belfast and Newry a few months ago, both said no way.

I only posted my previous post as some had said they had managed to get one up north........must do a better impression of the nordie accent than me, hurdy gurdy hurdy gurdy ;)

Not if you want an unlocked IPhone you don't.

The consensus on this board was that CPW was a no-go, so I knew that before I went there. O2 stores unofficially don't give a crap. I only went into CPW because I could not find a 16GB at the time.

Ring ahead (O2 store in the town you are planning to visit) before you travel up as even 8GBs are scarce now with the price drop.

A 3G (or some new model) is likely imminent, if you care about that.

Just an update on availability in the US....
The lad I know who was in florida never found any, he went to the apple store every other day while there (over 2 weeks!) and they never had any.

My wife is over in NY at the moment and she's been into apple every day (the last 4 days), they said they have none and haven't a clue when they'll get them back.

The AT&T stores she went to haven't them either, but they said they won't sell without signing up :(

Just in case anyone else was counting on getting one soon in the US, seems like they are very very short.

Ok i know this has been posted lots of times but its still not working for me & is really beginning to annoy me.

I am on 1.1.4 & have AppSupport Patch (1.1.4) Version 1.3b9 installed yet i'm still having issues with texts coming through in the +353 format.

If I send a text to eg Mary & she replies - when the text comes thru on my screen it tends to say Mary's name but when i slide to unlock and read the message it comes up in a seperate conversation to the one I sent & there is no name on the message it comes up as +3538xxxxxxxx

The only others apps installed on my phone are installer itself v3.01, BSD subsystem v2.1 and BossPrefs v1.55.

I have even manually changed some numbers to 00353xxxx & +353xxxxx but this doesnt solve it either!

Try uninstalling and reinstalling appsupport then try region patch 1.1.4 from big boss or try region patch first

I have app support and region patch installed but now when I get texts from certain people it won't match with the name. Its generally when the number is 3538.... or +3538 in my phonebook and the iphone shows the text as +353 8. When the numbers in the phonebook are changed to 085 etc then they work.

Does this mean region patch isn't working properly?
