My vote goes to Michael Hutchence of INXS who died while simultaneously pulling the flute off himself while hanging himself off a door. Technically known as auto-erotic asphyxiation. Probably at the whole time just got unlucky in this particular instance I suppose. So is there anybody out there who's death has topped this cos I can't think of anyone.

Dying alone in a bizarre sex act isn't exactly a rock n roll death  It's a pretty pathetic way to go.

Randy Rhoads (a highly regarded guitarist) died when a small plane he was passenger in crashed into the bands (Ozzy Osbourne) tour bus during some daft dive-bombing antics. That's a pretty rock n roll death :pac:

Pretty rock n roll alright, there's a guy that died from that too btw lol. Altho I wouldn't class it as rock n roll in the guy's case, I class that as gay.

It's awesomeness like that that makes me want to grab a guitar and head down the road to Rock n Roll stardom. There must be no greater feeling than going out in a shower of puke.

    Ahh, I can only dream.

+1 that or the fattest woman in the world choking on a ham sandwich though that might not be very rock and roll ironic perhaps

Then while it was being lifted off him the crane broke and it fell on him again!

    THAT's rock & roll!

Dying in a bus crash isn't a great 'rock and roll' death.

Stabbed himself twice in the heart.

Sorry but time for a more serious answer.. Elliott Smith.

Truly one of music greats.. Jeff Buckley may have been more well-known but Elliott is one of the most under-appreciated artists of our time.

    Two of his final songs:

If you've never heard of Elliott Smith, please seek out his material, especially 'XO' (in my opinion, the pinnacle of his career!).

Absolutely amazing.. I really don't think any artist will ever affect me like Elliott.
