So you're still waiting outcome of C13 - and are in for C14 too - and all that waiting!!!

Keep the chin up - there are still more intakes for C13, right up til Sept - Apparently the first intake of C14 is mid late October though dont take that as gospel!

Your score is really good - I think you're in with a chance! Keep the chin up!

I just wish Wednesday was over and I knew the results!!
And if it takes 20 days for the results to come back - I will be on holiday!!! Will have to get my sister to open my mail and call me on holidays - I will get very drunk that night - whatever the outcome lol :)

    MRSGENEHUNT
unsure if that is correct(mabe you heard different)first intake of this campaign was jan but i think they only used about 13 people, then i think 1t`s 50 per intake after so after the may intake that is only 213people,apparently this years intake is 440,so going on that there should be about 4-5 more intakes and seeing as there aren`t any again until august i would assume they should be intaking c13 until at least november(though i could be wrong)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,012 ✭✭✭MrsGeneHunt

Hope they do come back quick whatever the outcome - wouldnt like to be wandering round NYC not knowing!!!!!!!

hmmm heard they were only skipping June intake, could be wrong tho - time will tell I'm sure our colleagues on the board will let us know when they get the call!!!!!!!!

If you're right then C14 intakes wouldnt begin til Jan either?? I'm assuming there aint one in December what with Chrimbo and all!!

there normally seems to be about 5 weeks notice before intake,so after may25th you would normally be give notice for next intake but that brings us into july, they are skipping that one because of holidays but i think at that stagethey will give notice for next intake at start of august so it is still only the one intake your missing if you see what i mean(that is what i was informed by someone else but dont take as gospel)

ha ha,i hope im right im still in c13 just waiting for vetting, been waiting from mid nov, dont think it will ever come through

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 436 ✭✭Ultravid

Is that the true, false, cant tell part????? If so there are 48 questions so there must have been 12 different passages as each had 4 questions.

Im also sorry if this breaks T's and C's

How long do you get? Is it 25 mins?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,012 ✭✭✭MrsGeneHunt

Vetting seems to be a major stumbling block for most- whether north or south

Mind you I was vetted for a job in the Support Team - and that only took less than 6 weeks but I'm guessing maybe not as stringent as for the regular PSNI

Anyway you hang on in there - it'll all come good in the end!!

    Positive Mental Attitude!!!:D

( even though the waiting is driving you BONKERS!!! )

So this vetting business, anyone know what's involved? What do they look at exactly?

I am 26, one speeding fine, couple of stops by police for cheeky drving in the past. No skeletons in closet. So what is there that takes so long to complete?

Yeah well bonkers is as polite as I can be on a public forum!!!
But I empathise with what you're going through!

I reallllllllllllllllllllly hope that if I make it thru I get called up quick, that waiting malarkey would drive you to drink LOL ;)

    Ultravid

Vetting AFAIK goes into your family background ( immediate family ) and I also think, though I cant be sure, that you get credit checked, well you used to for the RUC -
So all your addresses for the last 20 years plus that of your parents and siblings ( though think this is only for 10 years - clarification anyone? )

Think they make sure you're not with the Taliban or anything LOL :D

Yes theres every possibility it might be quicker, obviously the less addresses you have to check out the less hassle and the smaller the family etc the better.

Let us know the minute you get your results!;)

oh my god, i watch it too and road wars. I love street wars when in N.I with the TSGs. Third watch is on FX at random times. It the sorta programme that is on for like a week then not on for months. All repeats cause they stopped making it, though its still fresh! Road wars, street wars, street crime UK, you name it i watch it. I like to class them programmes as educational and often say that will be me someday!!! I hope

Sadly, one already has enough of a shopping list already for NYC !!! ( first stop Tiffanys, then Jimmy Choo etc etc :o)

I do agree that those types of programmes help enormously!
So when you pass your test this time ( and you will ) this will be your first time at the AC?

I am bricking that part, providing I get that far, will be gutted if I fail IST:mad:

If I pass IST gonna get all the help and prep I can for the AC!;)

    Evenin' all

Stumbled across this site over the weekend by accident, wish I'd seen it earlier. Been reading every page intently since. Got my IST very soon, bricking it now after doing a few online assessments, the results of which have been getting steadily worse! Just google Employer Aptitude Test and search through the results. The true/false/can't tell are a real pain in the jacksy.

Had to re-learn multiplication, division and even subtraction too because I've been using a calculator for years.

Fingers crossed for everyone else going through the initial steps.

Dare say I'll be back on here at some point soon.
