Which nationalities do you get on best and worst with?

A bit ridiculous to generalise entire populations, but in my experience:

I get on on well with: English, German, Dutch, Mexican, Italian, Japanese
I don't get on well with: American, French

When I worked in New York, the Dominican Rep. lads and Mexicans were great. Always positive (even though people treated them like ****) and always up for a laugh.

Also love Geordies (they're a nation unto themselves) and generally get on great with all English people. Spanish are great craic aswel.

No love for the French, and there is something about Aussies that grates me.

How anyone can genuinely say they dont like americans - all 275 million, or think the french are rude all 60 odd million of them because you may have met a few is beyond me.

I tend to "get on well" with a personality rather than a nationality.

havent met a rude frenchmen but then i havent really looked. Met some annoying, bastardly, shady chinese folk, but I've also met some awesome chinese folk.

If you want to get really racial I find the hardest people to get along with are so-called African Americans. Most of them just dont want to be got along with.

To be honest get on best and worst with Irish. Have never had problems with French, find their reputation very undeserved to be honest. South Africans are another matter, have a guy in work who's sound but most of them are very fake and with a few beers in them their real character comes out and it's nasty. Truly nasty.

Interesting, when I was living in the States the Americans i got on best with were African Americans, many of them militant. Suppose it's horses for courses.

Yeah try going to school with some and you'll see what I mean. Constantly getting robbed blind in between classes got old fast. Not all bad, but theres a shocking amount of them who are just raised woefully.

I cant get on with germans at all- i think its because their language sounds so agressive and the whole hitler thing doesnt help lol, I dont really get on better with any other nationality than others - they are all the same on that line- except germans

Though honestly when i was little i had a nightmare a chinese person kidnapped me and im kinda scared of them even to this day:(

Everyone else I've met apart from some individuals are great. Irish, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Greek, Scottish, English, Korean, Chinese, Japanese ....

I think the only nationality I don't get on with are Corkonians. I recognise the People's Republic of Cork only because I don't want them considered as Irish.

Actually, I got to defend the French. Admittedly I often visit the countryside but they all seem nice.

That said, I have met enough for-id-ners to know you don't judge on nationality, but on personality. Shame on you, OP :P

English, Poles and Russians have all been sound. I've found anyone I've met from Zimbabwe to be highly inteligent and articulate to the point of having better english than most Irish people I know :rolleyes:

I went to college with no less than 80 nationalities in the US for 4 years and the ones i got on with the most were Latinos and African Americans. Nearly all my friends were non-white. I had 6 close friends who were African Americans and all of them were down to earth and sound. And even when i went to their family events and met their other friends i always got on with them. I never had any problems of theft with the ones i didn't know either. Only thing that wrecked my head was how some of them bought into the image thing too much. They tried to hard to be cool.

Thinking about people in terms of nationality is stupid, although I've met a few Swiss people, and they were all neurotic and self-absorbed.

I hope it was just coincidence.
