This Anglia has been sitting outside a house near The Hill of Uisneach for a year or more, I think it was moved from the back of the house when an extension was built. I'm surprised it even survived the move as it is red rotten with rust. Being park under a tree now is not helping the situation.

Nice original irish county westmeath reg, it doesnt look that bad, but it is an anglia, the were fairly rust prone!!The reg doesnt come up on cartell, so it looks like its been off the road a fairly long time!!

It must be of the road a VERY long time because our old '82 Ford Escort was scrapped in 1993 and it still comes up on Cartell.

hmm i thought these were only confined to the UK. I never saw an irish one.
In this month's irish vintage scene, there is a picture of a similiar model with frontal damage in a field in galway. what is the purpose of the handle featured over the side glass

Anyway I have a MK3 Zodiac, Had access to two Hearses for spares, they were shifted on last year (pretty good nick, one manual/one auto, the manual was driving (cavan reg), May be able to trace them, if any interest. Cheers for now.

There were/still are quite a few original Irish Daimler DS420's sold new here.
    More Limousines than hearses however.
Mine was owned new by Murrays Cauffeur Hire in Ballsbridge.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,318 ✭✭✭✭carchaeologist

I dont know how anyone could leave a pagoda out in the weather like that, they are a great looking car.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,269 ✭✭✭MercMad

A neighbour told me who lived there but now I can't remember... The house is huge but looks like its falling to bits. There's a few different cars that come and go so I doubt it's just some really old person locked away.

PM me for location - in return for a finders fee of being there when it's inspected!
