May i ask how are they going to play 4 strikers together?

And Saha is not a proven match winner, not for at least 2 seasons anyway!

Ronaldo & Torres have scored again since those stats were calulated.

p.s Saha a proven match winner?!?! Whaaaaaat ?

Thanks proving my point. I was talking about Ronaldo and Rooney and you give me stats for Tevez.

Because i have nothing better to do and the fact that you keep being so damn smug and annoying :

Top 3 scorers for both teams

Torres, Gerrard, Benayoun 56 goals from 99 goals = 56.5% of team goals
Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney 59 goals from 84 goals = 70% of team goals

    Feel your stupidity

Im gonna go one further and compare like for like

    United :
    Ronaldo 31
    Tevez 15
    Rooney 13
    Saha 5
    Ferdinand 3
    Giggs 3
    Nani 3
    Fletcher 2
    Pique 2
    Carrick 1
    Hargreaves 1
    Park 1
    Scholes 1
    Vidic 1
    (own goals) 2
    Total 84 goals

    Liverpool:
    Torres 27
    Gerrard 19
    Benayoun 10
    Kuyt 9
    Babel 8
    Crouch 8
    Voronin 4
    Hyypia 3
    Xabi Alonso 2
    Aurelio 1
    El Zhar 1
    Lucas 1
    Mascherano 1
    Pennant 1
    Sissoko 1
    (own goals) 3
    Total 99 goals

Liverpools goal distribution looks a lot healthier dont you think ?
Oh and Voronin is just 1 goal behind "match winner" Saha's goal count.
Should learn to look into things before making sweeping unfounded statements

ugh, can any thread with united and liverpool in it ever fail to become pathetic, im better then you, hes better then you everyone is better then him, hes a donkey, how can he be a prem footballer etc. etc. its boring, i know i have fallen victim to getting involved in these stupid "debates" before but **** sake.

the united liverpool game is sunday, more important to me is the bolton game ehich is tonight. it amuses me that there has been a thread about the pool game for so long and no thread about a match taking place tonight. liverpool are not important right now, bolton are. making sure we get 3 points tonight is vital. the we think about the next team, whether its liverpool sunderland or spurs, they are all the same to me. just teams we want to beat. they all have good/decent players, they all have ****e players, thats been repeated over and over in arguements here.

liverpool are on a good run of form, they are scoring goals and will be a threat on sunday, united are not taking as many chances as we should and if we dont get out of that soon we wont win a thing this season. i think we will get out of that rut, tonight.

but lets get tonights game out of the way before the macho bull**** kicks off for sundays game please!

When was the last time Saha won a match for us??

Tevez on the other hand has pulled us out of the crap a few times this season.

Utd have had many players impressing this season, Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez , Nani, Anderson, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra. When looking at Liverpools season the only impressive players have been torres and gerard.

maybe you could save another few pages of crap and just edit that to include Mascherano??? he will be pointed out to you and reasons for why hes impressive and all the other stuff and then why Anderson hasnt been impressive (false) and some other bull****. then they will say Babel has been impressive and such and Nani hasnt been impressive, maybe pool and united fans should have their own insult each oters players while bigging up their own thread????? mods???

You forgot that Reina > VDS and that Benitez > Fergie in Europe
    :D:D:D:D:D
Stats and the fact that player A is better than player B is completely
pointless, its how the team plays together and how clinical they are that matters.
Teams should always be greater than the sum of their parts.

PS Barnsley > Inter Milan, pm me for more details ;);)

I still think Saha has a lot to offer a top team, if he could just sort his fitness out! Won yee the first sunderland game towards the start of the season, and i think his performance for the last half hour once he came on shows his worth, he offers a spearhead that the other strikers at ManU dont.

Yeah Saha has the goods - just doesnt have the fitness and more importantly doesnt have the head for it now - his attitude on field is not a patch on what it was 2 years ago when he displaced Rud. I think his body language screams 'dead man walking'

If he could get a good run of games together theres a chance he could be effective again but it's been too long and I got sick of defending him long ago. Now i can't wait to see him replaced. :(

whats pi**es me off about these threads is that people arent seen from one end of the season to another and then they come on and think they own the place when its united v liverpool, with less than 100 posts and they take over. and im not having a go at either set of fans, both are as bad. yes this is important, and yes this is bigger than anything else, but once its over, its just 3 points in reality. united need the 3 points more, as we have a league title to win. liverpool can afford to loose and still stay 4th.

If united win, this thread will end monday or tuesday cos united fans will realise that its time to move on and say, it just prooved what we already knew.if liverpool win, there will be calls for this thread to be sticked and it will run until may 2009, and all the liverpool fans telling us "i told ya we were better na na na", we are great, this is our year"

looks like this thread has kicked off now and its only Wednesday. how many bannings over the next 5 days, i reckon more than 10 anyway.

I think United fans overestimate how much Liverpool fans actually care about their team.

As already stated United have had the run over Liverpool home and away for the last few years, so I doubt it will change come Sunday.

Saha had a big influence on our title run last year, when he is on form and injury free he is quite potent. This year he has been injury plagued and has had minimal contribution this season so far and i don't think he will make much of a contribution for the rest of the season while rooney and tevez stay injury free.

That said, saha is a great player but his injuries stopped him from fufilling his obvious potential.

About the anderson debate,I'm sure he will go onto becoming a great player of the highest class but i dont think he will start sunday because fergie will want scholes n carrick .

Who has the best eleven debate well. i'd put gerrard, torres and finnan into the utd team. While masch is a great player in his chosen role,he is of limited ability, hes a great defensive midfielder and suits for the way liverpool play but not for uniteds style.People can't really put neville ahead of finnan on past achievements and we don't know how gary has been affected by his injuries.

Can I ask what is the point of the who would make the best eleven if the two teams joined forces to become a super squad? It’s a f**kin team game, you can have the best eleven players in the world and they could still be a crap team.

Going into this game Liverpool are in a rich vein of form but they have hardly been playing stellar opposition, and are playing with a smaller amount of pressure than the Utd players.

Utd have clearly been the better team this season. Most goals scored (12 more than Liverpool), least goals conceded (6 less than Liverpool) and since this is a home game for Utd we have scored 34 and only conceded 5, Liverpool away have only scored 17 Reading have scored more away goals, while they do have the best away defensive record. But most importantly there is an 8 point difference between the teams.

Clearly Utd have been the better team this year, however this is a one of game where anything can happen. Both teams have the quality to win it; both teams have the ability to lose it.

Liverpool will come and look to keep it tight and try get something on the break through Gerrard, Bable, and Torres. Utd will not go flying at Utd and will try control the ball as much as possible.

I think Liverpool realistically only looking to get fourth (what’s the diff between third and fourth) and with Everton still to play Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool a draw is a good result for them. Utd should be looking to win this one, as with us having Arsenal and Chelsea still to play, three points against the weakest of the big four should be the aim.

when will liverpool realise hyppia was past it three or four years ago. yes, he's good. but you will not win a league with him.

reina, carragher, mascherano, gerrard, torres are the only players with the ability to win a league at liverpool. united have vds, vidic, ferdinand, evra, hargreaves, carrick, tevez, ronaldo, rooney, giggs, scholes... the players i've listed above are players that any team wanting to win the league would actively try and buy... and at the end of the day united have more of them, thats why they're better than liverpool, and why united will continue their march to another title this weekend, and liverpool will happily take 4th.

United to do liverpool again this weekend providing Ferdinand is fit. We need him to mark Torres. I can see him starting with Carrick and scholes in the middle.

The fact that he is 4th choice CB behind Carragher, Skrtel and Agger
makes your statement seem very well thought out and intelligent:rolleyes:
He has played so much due to the fact that Agger has been out for most
    of the season.
