Did anybody manage to sort out the "error sending message"

All worked well until today then texting stopped to all users

"error sending message" is the error.

    I've tried the following-

    1. typed *5005*7672*+353868002000*
Get a "Setting succeeded Service centre address No address"

    reset phone

tried to install SMSD - get a "PACKAGE DOWNLOAD FAILED" ERROR

deleted all conversations in the texting history

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

    James

Yeah you ssh into the phone and delete a file from memory I think it is the sms.db file in the SMS app

The phone will create a new file but I think you lose all your old messages

So maybe back up before if you need any of them

Thanks for the reply - by ssh - I imagine you mean connect via the PC using some kind of ftp system?

Forgive my noobishness. I've downloaded winSCP but have no clue how to log into the phone. Looking it up on google.

    Thanks again.

EDIT - Successfully tried it and got into the thing - deleted the file (copied it to desktop first - just in case) -tried to send a text - damn thing froze - rebooted and tried it again - same error message: Yuk! - checked the dir and it had replaced the file with a new one (as expected)

In short - didn't solve it. Nightmare - Thanks anyway for trying - much appreciated -

    any other thoughts

cdebru ... just in relation to the post above.

Can we use earlier versions of ziphone without the risk of downgrading 1.1.2otb bootloader??

    Have you got a signal

Just seen that the windows Ziphone 2.4 GUI downgrades the bootloader to 3.9 on 4.6 BL phones some people are reporting that they are not getting a signal

It appears to be a fault with the WINDOWS 2.4 GUI the mac gui does not do this in fact the mac GUI does not support bootloader downgrade at all.

If your phone is 1.1.2otb or 1.1.3 otb DO NOT USE ZIPHONE 2.4 GUI WINDOWS unless you want to risk the downgrade to your bootloader

The good news is that there is a fix if you are still without a signal Higster you unfortunately have to go back to 1.1.1 and unlock there

There is a baseband downgrader in the installer

Just check and see what baseband you are on first

Oh feck. Have "No Service" where signal bars etc should be.

Phone settings (under about) is showing version as 1.1.3 (4A93) and modem firmware as 04.03.13_G (was 1.1.2 (3B48b) with 04.02.13_G before did the upgrade to 1.1.3)

    This is scaring me...
Why A 1.1.3 Upgraded from OTB 1.1.2 Can’t Be Downgraded
The OTB 1.1.2 comes with bootloader 4.6 which has changed the version checking algorithm, the algorithm is like this:

if (secpack version > current baseband version)
    allow to erase
    else
    deny it

The above statement indicates with bootloader 4.6, a higher (than current) version of secpack is required to erase the current baseband. So to erase a baseband 04.03.13_G with bootloader 4.6, you have to have a >04.03.13_G secpack. That’s why you can’t downgrade a 1.1.3 iPhone upgraded from OTB 1.1.2, because when an OTB 1.1.2 is upgraded to 1.1.3, the modem is also upgraded to 04.03.13_G, to erase it, a higher version (>04.03.13_G) is required, which means you have to wait till the next baseband update.

UPDATE: Don’t do this on an OTB 1.1.2, there’s no way to flash a baseband with bootloader 4.6 at this time.

    Any ideas?

    Ok two possible reasons

1 you did not unlock the phone you just activated and jailbroke it

2 you did unlock the phone and downgraded your bootloader to 3.9 but the unlock did not work properly

so what you need to do is find out what bootloader you have

If it is 4.6 then you just need to unlock it

If it is 3.9 then you need to downgrade your baseband and unlock it you could then move back up and unlock it again

The message you have there relates to a 1.1.2 otb which you have however if you have downgraded your bootloader then no longer have 4.6 so you can downgrade your baseband

As ever thans edebru...and as ever I've more questions...

    1. How do I find out what bootloader I am now on?

    2. If it is 4.6 how do I unlock it (and what use)

    3. If it is 3.9 (gulp) how do I downgrade baseband and unlock and move back up and unlock it?

    Thanks.

    Install WINSCP
Login to winscp with your ip adres. Check your IP in settings, wifi and then blue arrow.
    Username : root
    Password: alpine
If you can’t connect, change file protocol

    Put BBupdater in /usr/bin
    Remove .txt from file
Click rightmouse on file and put permissions to 755
    Close WINSCP

    Open putty
Give ip adres and username (root) and password (alpine)
    Put this in terminal:

    launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
    cd /usr/bin
    bbupdater -v
    launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

You can copy and past in putty (just click rightmouse to past)

Putty is now pinging your baseband and you will get something like this:

    Resetting target...
    pinging the baseband...
    issuing +xgendata...
    firmware: DEV_ICE_MODEM_04.02.13_G
    eep version: EEP_VERSION:208
    eep revision: EEP_REVISION:1
    bootloader: BOOTLOADER_VERSION:4.6_M3S2

The last line is the important one

If it is 4.6 you can use Ziphone just don't use the Windows GUI

If it is 3.9 you can downgrade the baseband there is an app in the installer that will do it for you

That will put your baseband back to 04.01.13 you have a choice then you can restore the iphone back to 1.1.1 using itunes and jailbreak and unlock it as a 1.1.1 phone

Or you could try and use the baseband updater in the installer that will put you back up to 04.03.13 and you could use anysim for 1.1.3 from the installer

    hope that helps

Ok just had a look at the windows GUI for Ziphone

If anyone is using it and has a 4.6 bootloader phone but does not want to downgrade their bootloader
    Select the Advanced option

In there you can select what actions you want

Just untick the box that says downgrade bootloader and tick the the Jailbreak activate and unlock boxes then click perform actions

cdebru...does this work for checking bootloader version (your one scares the bajazus outta me)...

check your bootloader version. To do that, fire up Installer.app and add "installer.iclarified.com" to your "Source" list. Find out how to do that here. Install "Baseband Info." Find the "BBinfo" application on your homescreen and run it.

CAn log in under winscp no bother.

    What am I missing?

The first command is wrong you are missing an l at the start

    Should be
    launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

    Not
    aunchctl unload
    /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

I got my iphone yesterday and I have to say unlocking it was a dream, thanks all for all their useful posts.

    What I did was:
Backed up my phone to Windows Address Book.
Downloaded ZiPhone and ran it, what a great app btw.
Put in my o2 Sim card.
    Installed iWorld.
Copied music to it using Winamp.
Removed the music using Winamp as it didn't show up.
Copied music to it using iTunes.
Showed off my new toy in the pub :)

    Great thread.

Apologies if this has been covered before. I used the ZiPhone batch file to unlock/jailbreak/activate my OTB 1.1.3. It's now running 1.1.2 with the 4.3 bb.

I have a few quick questions:

1 - Can I use iTunes to update to 1.1.3 without locking the phone again? If no, is there a method which works?

2 - Is there a Windows app which allows you to manage programs on the iPhone in the same way the Installer does on the phone. I have installed a load of apps and I can't access the Installer app on the phone any longer as it's too far down on the dash.

    Bingo! http://iphone.unlock.no/

This finally did it for me.

Step 1) install ziphonewin and run with iphone connected.

    Step 2) Insert o2 sim.

    That is all.

When I try to install SIMPort I get a "Main script execution failed" error

Anyone know a fix for this?

    cdebru...thanks,,,

Was still getting error, tried different version of bbupdater and bingo...have
    BOOTLOADER_VERSION:4.6_M3S2 (& on verion 1.1.3 (4A93) modem firmware 04.03.13_G but is a 1.1.2 otb)

Outta curiousity tried old sim card with *sim card in another phone and she works. Still no signal on iphone though.

So now can I use the windows GUI for Ziphone and just hit unlock (do I need sim card in or out when doing this and preume have itunes shut down)?

How do you set these up so that they appear on the calendar?

For example, if I am going to be away on a business trip next Mon-Wed then I create an event for the Monday and set it to the time I have to leave Monday and the time I'll be back on Wednesday. But then when I look at my calendar there is nothing marked in for Tuesday or Wednesday. It would be easy to mistakenly add a meeting for one of these days even though I'm not around! This is not very practical! How do I set it up to mark off the 3 days like it does in windows mobile?

I find if you select that the event is on all day then it should mark it in for Tuesday & Wednesday too!
