Just put it into DFU mode

What error are you getting

If that don't work try it on a different PC

so the rule is simple if you want an iPhone running 1.1.3 activated and unlocked as apple intened but with your Irish Sim use the ZiPhone method

Zibri has apparently fixed the installler issue

You need to download the new version

Then restore the phone and do it again might be easier than going the long way around

Error 1 is supposed to mean that you are not in DFU apparently

if you use ibrickr to put the phone into restore mode should fix it

really?? right ill restore to 1.1.3 with itunes and use his method.

Actually he has taken it down so I guess it does not work or it creates another problem

I would go with the long method at least you know it works

Ok I might be wrong, I noticed in the command window method that it states to execute ZiPhone -a -j -u in that order i.e.: Activate, Jailbreak, Unlock.

As you suggested zibri fixed the jailbreak problem but has since taken it down because of a bug.

Regardless of this i tried to use the previous release he had posted up the one i used originally but this time i added this GUI file to the ZiPhone directory and ran that. When it opened I noticed it had the steps in the order: Jailbreak, Activate, Unlock.

So i let it run again (2.30mins) from the GUI and walla installer works!!

Hey, don't suppose anyone knows whether it matters what version of ITunes you're using when cracking the phones? Am going to use Ziphone on my 1.1.3 OTB but haven't installed Itunes yet and was wondering, before I do, is there a specific version, or will whatever I get from apple.com do?

Okay this is getting annoying....

Contrary to what I said above, using ZiPhones method works 100% with installer.

But! Trying to view files through WINSCP, iPhoneBrowser or ibrickr does not work all programs tell me my phone is not jailbreaked!

Installing 3rd party apps via installer works just trying to view and edit the iPhone dir is a no no

Hi I'm getting a runtime error when trying to run the Ziphone 2.0 GUI
It can't load the Zibri.dat

Am I doing something wrong? The new phone is straight out of the box (at&t sim card still in it)

Any ideas?

did you try reseting, hold home and power buttons together and the phone will shutdown

Ziphone 2.0 is out I suggest you restore use that and then install iworld from the installer if you are on 1.1.2

Thanks cdebru - but when I ran Ziphone 2.0 through the GUI I'm getting the following alert from iTunes - 'The iPod update server could not be contacted'. I think it happens when Zibri.dat is trying to load.

I have the latest version of iTunes installed and my Wifi connection is fine. Any ideas?
