After been using 1.1.3 for the last 2 days, there's not a massive improvement. Just some minor things. If you're happy, I'd just leave it as you are. I may downgrade if they don't release versions of Customize and Summerboard soon enough as I need them both to get my theme back to the way I like it!

    2. Don't know how quick delivery is, but according to their site, unlockthatiphone are a Cork based company and will be shipping from within Ireland, so should be fairly quick.

Careful! I placed an order 3 weeks ago and have NOT received ANY information from www.unlockthatiphone.com!!

I am on the verge of thinking it's a scam!

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT, PURCHASE FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE LEFT 600Euros SHORT FOR AN UNDEFINED AMOUNT OF TIME!!!!!

Anyone know of a decent but not too expensive in canal earphones that will work on iPohne that has mic built in...somethin along the lines of http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/ipod/review/v-moda-vibe-duo-earphones-with-microphone/ which I can't get my hands on here and is just a tad too expensive for what I need.

    Thanks

Is it just springboard and customizer that doesnt work with 1.1.3
Just reading on hackint0sh about the BB upgrader might be worth doing
    baseband upgrade: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=640
    Then AnySim1.1.3 : http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=635

apparently its as easy as this
Firmware 1.1.3 BB 04.02.13_G ---> Baseband Upgrader ---> Restart Phone ---> AnySIM 1.3 ---> Enable Airplain Mode ---> Run AnySIM ---> Restart Phone ---> Disable Airplain Mode
---> Uninstall AnySIM and BB Upgrader ---> DONE / Firmware 1.1.3 BB 04.03.13_G

I totally agree with you. I ordered a stealth sim with them nearly three weeks ago and I have received nothing yet. Getting really frustrated to say the least. I've also heard nothing from them giving me any kind of update, even though I have emailed and rang them a couple of times. Last Monday they were meant to have got a new shipment of sims and they said on their site that we would have them by today at the latest! Surprise, surpise - nothing arrived in the post today! Not sure what to do next!!

Same here, I was let down by them as well.

A question for other contributors ... what sim should I order instead and how long should I have to wait for it??? I'd really like to get the iphone working as I've had it since before Xmas.

2 Chinese lads in 91 Parnell street will do it for 60 yoyo. I'd say they are cheap cards but working grand for me and will install it for you if you have done all the software prework. Am not going to risk upgrading to 1.1.3 with it. 0879739918 make sure they have in stock first. Note I have nothing to do with their business in any way or form.

Saying that unlockthatiphone did deliver mine after some delay of couple days of promised date (I managed to breaking in two trying to install it)

dose anyone know when and if the i-phone will be going on sale here any time soon and if so what network? I am heading to ny in a few weeks and might pick one up if it will take another few years for one to be released here.

Would it be possible for some kind soul to summarise this thread, or maybe even just answer me a few questions?

I've read bits and pieces of the thread to try and find the answer but just get more confused and more questions arise for me. And since we're not allowed to start more iPhone threads I suppose this is the only place for me. So here goes:

    1) Does the iPhone actually work (i.e. SMS, MMS, Internet and Phone calls) with a regular Sim card (after unlocking or that Next Sim 4 or anysim or whatever) on an existing bill and the network?

    2) Where are people buying them from? A few pages back I noticed unlockthatiphone had a representative and people seemed happy with them, are they not so great now?

2a) Why are people paying €600 from him anyway, when they are available on e-bay for 400 - 500?? Is it just customer service and a general worry about buying stuff off ebay, or is there only certain ones work in Ireland at the moment?

    3) Can an iphone be bought from anywhere in the world and just be unlocked, or can we only buy US ones?

    4) I read somewhere that Networks have to get ready for the iPhone and O2 are looking like they'll be the ones that will be doing it here, if they have to upgrade the Network or whatever for the iPhone does that mean the iPhone won't fully work over here at the minute? (kinda related to Q1 I suppose)

    5) Are there huge Bills from accessing the mobile internet (e.g. Vodafone Live) making the internet pieces of the phone basically redundant unless you are connected to a Wifi or wireless network?

    6) Is there a huge amount of work and technical stuff needed to be done to the phone to make it actually useable over here.

Sorry if these are dumb questions, but hopefully someone will help me out, I really want to get one but I want to make sure I'm not just buying a glorified 8Gb iPod or a nice Paperweight?

Rumour has it that it should be out before the end of the year. (prob vodafone) .The only ones in the apple shops right now are 1.1.3 OTB. Which as far as I can gather cannot be jailbroken either by sim or software, yet. But thats the extent of my knowledge.

    1. Yes - all except MMS (though there is a beta program that can be installed for sending MMS only).

    2. eBay from the US already unlocked, or O2 shops in the North (the latter would be my preferred option).

2a. God only knows. I certainly wouldn't buy from them. Same product only more expensive, and that's if they deliver (if you believe what you read on this thread).

    3. Anywhere, but the unlocking solution differs.

    4. Networks that carry the Iphone must have a stable EDGE service. They also must be able to support the visual voicemail feature, which is a network dependent service and will not currently work with an Iphone on any Irish network.

    5. Potentially, depending on your usage and tariff. Personally I use WiFi only.

    6. Not really, it's simple enough. Plenty of guides available, not to mention this thread. ;)

Are you sure about this? I've read that 1.1.2 is what's the Iphones currently sold in the UK / US. Of course, that will change very soon, once stocks have depleted.

1.1.3 OTB can be jailbroken, but not unlocked by software, as yet. We have had reports that the Stealth Sim can be used to bypass the SIM lock on 1.1.3 OTB Iphones. However, we have also had reports that it cannot.

Is there a Vodafone logo available to replace the carrier information? I've seen ones for Rodgers, T-Mobile, etc. in Installer but none for Vodafone...

16gb was only released recently, and after the release of 1.1.3. 8gb models are still 1.1.2 afaik. It'd be nice to get clarification from someone with experience of the Stealth Sim on 1.1.3. Unfortunately there's conflicting information on this thread about them.

    Hi,

I just got my iPhone and need to jailbreak it. I am following iClarified http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=461
I install oktoprep when in 1.1.1 but when i go to the step 4 1.1.2-jailbreak, it tells me i must have oktoprep installed....but I do.

    Any ideas,
    Regan

happily running 1.11, updraded from 1.02

what are the advantages of going to 1.12?

can i ugrade to 1.13 direct? or do i have to install 1.12 first?

do any of these upgrades affect the issues i have re the low ring volume and bluetooth

thanks in advance for the assistance

ps unlockthatiphone maybe slow, but they are not scamming people from my experience, yes it is frustrating when they do not reply but stephen is a decent skin

one of the biggest advantages i think with 1.1.2 is you now get voicemail txt's it also seems to be abit faster too, there is a tweak in 1.1.2 to fix low ring volume which can be got from Installer. yeah its possible to go straight to 1.1.3 but I think its better to upgrade to 1.1.2 first before you goto 1.1.3

The Official Devteam 1.1.3 jailbreak requires 1.1.2 Natetrues jailbreak allowed for an update from 1.1.1

8gb iphones are available in 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 it just depends on where you buy it and how quickly that shop turns over its stock

Are you getting the message after you install OKTOPREP that you are ready to update

If yes the problem more than likely is that you pressed RESTORE and the shift key to go to 1.1.2 this undoes the OKTOPREP

You need to go back to 1.1.1 run OKTOPREP again then back to Itunes and press UPDATE while holding the shift key then select your 1.1.2 firmware and you should be fine
