I don't understand this new 1.1.3 - will someone clarify, is it only jailbroken or unlocked aswell?

So if I upgrade from my 1.1.1 to 1.1.3 I will still be able to make calls?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,658 ✭✭✭PowerHouseDan

Jailbreak only but withstands uploads as it does not update the baseband.

Looks like it is more a meteor issue than anything else maybe we should all complain if it works on o2 and Voda why are meteor apparently blocking it

Strange, I have "locate me" working with metoer at the mo it picks up 5 cell towers... and is fairly accurate.

The locate part of google maps works too but its way off like a mile down the road lol

ah feck! I thought changing the appsupoport file had worked, it didnt.....

im gonna reload the backups i made and try iworld feckin hell is 1.1.3 really worth it?? so i can jiggle my icons whoppeee

i might just go back to 1.1.2

Upgraded a 1.1.2 OTB US to 1.1.3 last night using iBrickr113 and all went well. No problems with the upgrade.

Waiting for new version of "customise" so I can restore a "contacts" icon onto the home page/screen.

    Whats Up Lads,

This my first post so its gonna be short,
I have read all the posts regarding the communication from 'unlockthatiphone' but nobody has got any? Yet people seem to still of ordered off them so what is the issue? have people not received any iphone or is it just the lack of communication apart from what is on the site?
Anybody actually got one off them ???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,658 ✭✭✭PowerHouseDan

May i ask why is your first post as a boards user about unlockthat?Getting pised at this stage being honest. I come here to get away from "Work" dont mind giving people WHO ACTUALLY ORDER SUPPORT but random people getting on my nuts.

Also been confirmed that iphonesimfree. Unlock actually works with the new 1.1.3 baseband doesnt work straight off but with a few command with mini com it works, Also same may go with the stealth sim we are testing it as we speak. X-sims are reported fully working with all firmwares incl 1.1.3 and new updated baseband.

Dan, thanks for update on this, Im wondering if the sims from iphonesimfreer.com fall under the x-sim category?

If so, am I right in saying that you cannot get jailbreaked 1.1.3 with latest baseband?

    Thanks

No X-sim is actually a make like turbo/stealth.It is possible to jailbreak the lastest baseband however.

    reported on Engadget

This could be very good for the iPhone development team

    :D

edit: sorry I'm wrong it's only the SDK key

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,658 ✭✭✭PowerHouseDan

Apple can change it though but not on 1.1.3 which is good news for us.

It is software, You can downgrade the software to 1.1.2 on a otb 1.1.3 just not the baseband so a jailbreak is done doing that way.

Just to clarify I know what Dan meant but it reads like something different

The baseband is not what is jailbroken it is the OS that is jailbroken what Dan means is it is possible to have the latest baseband firmware on a jailbroken phone.

Jailbreak only refers to the OS part of the phone

fair enough you are helping people and thats what the thread should be used for but you are also ripping people off charging 599 euro for a phone that costs 270 euro to buy + 50 euro for a *sim = 320 euro if you were charging 400 or 450 that would be fair enough but 599 is crazy:eek:

For gods sake can we keep Dan / his partner's business outside of this thread, it's gotten ridiculous.
600 quid, maybe he is making a tidy profit but so what - it's a stress free solution for the purchaser, and I'd imagine it will be selling for a price close to this once it's released here.

I'm just going to throw this one out there, but how about a blanket ban on any unlockthatiphone interaction within the thread?

Dan is a great help to everybody here, and there's no reason for him to be getting so much abuse from customers in *this* thread, and we shouldn't have to dredge through it!

I would think so 1.1.3 even the official apple release seems very buggy

remember on the gearlive video when it was leaked it froze as they did the demo and that is the same as the eventual release.
