Does anyone know how to unlock the latest batch that were released in Lidl?

I tried my 40Gig 2.5inch drive (laptop hd with no power supply) connected to the player and it doesnt work. The drive is FAT 32.
The olny other thing i can think of is that the external drive is not getting enough power from the usb port on the player (although the light is on the drive and it appears to power up ok) The green light on the player doesnt light up though

    Anyone have any suggestions

Timans - What are you tryin to unlock??

Sounds like the drive is sapping all the juice from the port. Try one with an external power supply.

I have a samsung tv and got one of these dvd players this morning. I got a hdmi cable to connect it but it wont pick it up. Plays with a scart lead. What are the chances that its a faulty hdmi cable?
I have differents brands of TV & DVD but had a similar problem awhile back,
make sure your tv is using the correct input, in the tv setup menu select HDMI as the input & if the tv then has other HDMI output options like 480 720 or 1024
start at the lowest,..then in the dvd setup menu select the output as HDMI & pick the same option (480) as the tv is set for,...if that works you can change options to the 720 mode on both dvd & tv.

You've to set the player to output through the hdmi connection.

There is a video button or something like that as far as i remember and you use that to scroll through to get the hdmi.

Think its all in the manual anyway

Thanks got it working. I plugged in the scart leads and the hdmi cable at the same time and set it up that way:eek:

    Thanks again.

I have one of these from last year. Not a bad player, was easily region decoded but in the last few months won't play for more than 2 hours without going all scrambled. I think it might be overheating? So... on the market again.

I tried to connect it with HDMI only but it's unpredictable and sometimes just won't work, so I have the scart plugged in too as a back-up -- the difference in picture quality is significant.

I connected up a mates 160GB hard drive, it said bad disk the first time I connected it, but when I plugged the power into the hard drive it worked no probs.

I'm also having problems with an external hard drive. I've been using an external 2.5" 160GB drive with the Silvercrest DP 5300x for quite a while now but when I plugged it in to the 6515 it just says "loading" for a very long time. If I turn on the player with the drive connected it will make a worrying 'click' about twice a second for as long as I'm willing to leave it (not long).

To get it working with the 5300 I had to make a 120GB FAT32 partition, it wouldn't recognise anything larger.

I also tried a 1GB Flash Voyager and it says it's unsupported.

I don't have a PSU for the external drive, other than that has anyone any other suggestions? I can't find a firmware upgrade anywhere on the web.

You can only use a device with up to 512mbs storage without being self powered

Anyone know if this player has a usb port? It says 7 in 2 card reader but never mentions a usb port. I have a Silvercrest and they're great but will need to know if it has a usb port before bothering to go into town to pick one up :)

    Cheers

Yeah thats the one that this thread is about, I got it and
its working fine with a 4GB and also tried it with a powered 160GB HD and it works fine too

got the dvd player this week and it's brilliant, it takes my 2 gb memory stick no problem even though the manual says that it only supports a 512mb. My 500 gb external hd was too much and didn't work. i think too many titles.

I have one from last October (DP5300x) and it can see my portable HD but can't see the files in the various folders. Any ideas?

    hey,

ive tried the 9999 hack method and my silvercrest still isnt region free. it used to play all regions when i got it, then slowly a few discs wont play and after a while, more disces wont play.

now only burnt discs play and retail discs wont play.

    Hi dope540,

as far as I can remember, if you go back into the menu for the dvd player it will let you reset it to "muti" region.
Can't remember exactly how to do it, just scroll thru the various icons. Hope I was of some help.

My apologies, I was told differently. Do you think it may help if on the video menu you checked to see if your video out was set correctly? I hit off the "v" button on the remote and couldn't figure out why nothing would show on tv.

no problem, still dont work. i tried some copied discs and they still work but a few dont work, retail discs dont work either. the logo is shown and other stuff when the disc is running and the film, when the good discs are used.
