    Hey Ladies,

So I decided I'd do a bit of a clear our of my wardrobe today.
I finally decided to tackle the end of my wardrobe which was shoe city!! Just this giant pile of shoes!! I decided to bite the bullet and throw out anything I didn't wear, no.. "oh but I might need these for such a thing"

    I threw out 39 pairs!!!! 39!!!
Now this includes slippers, flip flops, heels, boots, runners

I still have about 25+ pairs of shoes

So..... how many pairs of shoes do you think lurk in the bottom of your wardrobe??

I'd have to count them but I've loads of boxes of shoes boots and runners stacked in my wardrobe, then got a chest thing at the end of my bed full of them too, I'd easily have 40, don't wear half them though. I might count them tonight ;)

How many i own, I've really no idea.
How many i wear? I've about 4 pairs or runners that i rotate, 2 pairs of boots, and 2 pairs of favourite shoes at the moments.
With slippers, boots, flip flops, runners, shoes, comfy and for show, all in, I'd estimate easily 50 or 60

I've somewhere in the region of about 80-90 pairs. Love shoes. It's a mix of runners, heels, flats and other types. The vast majority are in boxes. I think that I have about 12 pairs of Irregular Choice.

Oh God, about 40? I probably wear 10 -12 on a regular basis. i did a bit of a clear-up recently and threw two sacks of clothes out (well recycled them). My drawers are still bursting. i think I need to do a shoe one though.

Because I have to take one bag to NZ with me I'm getting my head around the idea that i really don't need all this stuff!

About 100 :o In my defense, I am not hard on shoes and I can wear them for years - did I say IN MY DEFENSE.....

Yeah I'm not big into shoes but my problem is that I've had a bad foot for 6 years at this stage, continuous swelling and my big toe used to dislocate itself on nights out. I also have bunions... yes i am disgusted too coz I'm only 21!!

But now since I got my foot sorted, If a shoe fits me and it's half decent, I buy it which might have something to do with my shoes before.

I have loads of different types of sandals/stilettos depending on which dress I'm wearing, And my new recent thing is to buy proper high heels, like with peep toes because my feet never fit into them before so I guess I'm celebrating it!

Including boots and sandals I have 55. Mr F made me count them in the hope it will stop me buying anymore  I have a shoe room to house them all as I keep them all in their boxes apart from a few pairs of boots i picked up in the sales.

One pair of expensive running shoes
    One pair of converse
Two pairs of glitzy flats for going out (I can't deal with heels, pity seeing as I'm 5'2")

At my parents' house I think there's another pair of converse with skulls on them, a big pair of winter boots, a really battered pair of vans and a pair of high heels, but I never wear any of them.

    So 4, effectively.

I love looking at shoes in shops, I just hardly ever buy them.

Umm... having had an argument with someone last week about consumerism, I have 36 pairs, not including slippers or flipflops. But I wear all of them! And to be fair, almost all of them are flats that I bought for under €20. My favourite shoes are a pair of red and white striped Underground brothel creepers that I got last summer for €10 in the sales. If I could get my hands on a few more pairs I'd buy them in a second, they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. Most of my shoes are patterned or bright flats.

In my defense, I've only recently committed myself to shoes properly. I have big(ish) feet, and so finding shoes I really like and that fit used to be a huge problem (at one stage I wore a size 11, but I get away with a size 8 or 9 now) but now that there's a wider selection of big shoes available, I'm like a child in a sweet shop.

I only have seven pairs of shoes that have a semblance of a heel though, one pair of black heels, two pairs of black wedges (one suede, one leather), a pair of cream/off white heels and a pair of black sandals I've had since I was 16, my ankle boots and my knee high boots. The thoughts of throwing any of them away breaks my heart.

wow I thought the cliche of women and shoes was just that a cliche. I've got about 4, all sketchers cus i hate shoe shopping and the sketchers store in new york is always easy to get in and out of quick. I never try shoes on in the shop, hate it.

    Right lets see...

    Work shoes x 2 (One pair I don't wear)

Black suede heels, black satin heels, silver heels x 2, tweed heels, purple heels, brown heels, red suede heels, funky lace up redish orangey things.

Boots: Black suede boots x 2, brown leather flat boots, black leather heel-boots x 2, ugly black boots, black faux-suede boots with heel

Flats: Runners old, runners new, cons, random flats x 5

    Sandals x 3

    Slippers x 1

That's all I can think of, but there are more.

Loads, mainly boots because I love wearing boots, I've gone out at times and spent 500+ euros on a shoe binge :D

i've about 80 pairs of high heels alone!

3 pairs. It would suit me if they sold them in petrol stations that way it would cut down on the shopping even more.

too many. its like a shoe avalanche when i open the wardrobe.

although i did a cull last week so its actually not so bad now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,145 ✭✭✭SarahSassy

I cant throw them out. I think about doing a humane cull but I find excuses to keep them all. Think I have to love them before I buy them so then its hard to divorce them :o

    hmm...

old school/work shoes... i *think* i brought them with me anyway...had them for about 5 years now...

4 pairs of not-quite-converse... cos about a fiver each...
green canvasy ones... cost a tenner...
    vans... cost €60
adidas... can't remember, they're about 6 years old...

though i do intend shoe shopping soon,a s my good vans have a hole in the heel. :(

Oh god about 40-50 including everything I wud say at a guess if not more, you have reminded me to do a clear out.... :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,875 ✭✭✭Seraphina

i dont think of myself as a girly girl obsessed with shoes, but now that i think about it, i do have quite a lot of them.

well thats a lie, i actually dont own any shoes as such. i have runners, boots, sandals/flip flops but no actual shoes really.

im currently living in my awesome new knee high docs with a heel, not so manly and punky and doc like as your average docs. amazingly comfy, yum!

    ok lets see.
5 pairs of boots. all knee high, hate calf boots
5 pairs of runners (including old crap ones i keep for mucking about/sports)
a shed load of flip flops (i worked in penneys last year and couldn't resist them at 3 euro a pop)
many pairs of sandals (strappy/dressy and casual wedge)
    wellies
    hiking boots

hrm, im quite embarrassed now. i could have thirty pairs or more! (cant actually count as i currently have half my shoes at home in dublin) its mainly cause i actually cant physically throw anything away unless its completely worn out, and i keep my shoes well. my dressy black leather boots i have for about 6 years now, still in good condition
