    well Stealthsim finally arrived

Now the phone part sends the iphone back to the home menu anytime i click a number on the keypad, or select SMS from the home menu. It will call using address book but won't let me answer a call

    Anyone seen this before?

Guess i'll have to restore it and jailbreak again? any handy links to doing this?

iWorld in the installer will fix ix

Just install it then click on the icon then select Ireland

    Problem should be solved

erm how does one get the sim card out? i've tried pushing a pin into the little hole but don't want to push too hard for fear i might break something.

I used a paper clip on mine, don't be afraid of using a little force, out it will slide for you no bother. You can actually take the whole SIM housing unit out, place your SIM into it correctly and reinsert and away you go.:D

    Happy phone calling;)

Just push it in gently and the tray will pop out

Speaking of which the back of mine is fairly scratched already! Am I the only one?
Probably from having it in my pocket with keys and another phone rubbing against it. I don't really care as long as the screen doesn't get scratched.
The screen is still perfect, and I reckon always will be. It's invincible - look up youtube for iphone crash test and watch a guy try to scratch the screen with a stanley blade and it's still perfect...

Mine was brand new out of a sealed box. Put it on a clean, smooth table whilst unlocking etc, lifted it up - scratched (specifically, on the Apple logo area on the back). Was gutted. Since I gave it to my wife for Christmas, it never leaves her foofpod unless in her hand.

Good news for those looking for an unlock now

I bought a sim card from iphonesimfreer.com ordered on the 28th of December arrived Today so less than a week which is not bad considering it was over the New Year.

This is the NEW version of the iphonesimfreer card for US bought phones it is $65 plus $20 for DHL so $85 which was €61 which is nearly €30 saving on a stealthsim and they have them in stock

I have tested it on a 1.1.2 otb US iphone on both vodafone and Tesco mobile and it works perfectly on both no problems.

Just to repeat this is the new version of Iphonesimfreer (they still sell the old version which i believe there was problems with) and it is for US bought iphones

Just to clarify given recent events I am not selling anything and I have no relationship with any supplier just passing on my experience for the benefit of everyone

The website says "maybe 1.1.3" - interesting, but I think I'd like to wait until a sim unlock solution is confirmed to work with the new FW before purchasing, otherwise I'll just wait for the soft unlock to be released by the dev team.

When (presumably) O2 finally get the iPhone in Ireland, can we "go clean"? I'd still want to jailbreak, but will the phone be still AT&T locked and will it make life any easier?

I don't get you. When O2 Ireland sell the Iphone will it be AT&T locked?

I think he means will he be able to go legit with o2 with his iphone that was bought in the US and should officially be locked to AT&T.

And the answer is NO your phone is an AT&T phone it would not be able to be used officially on the o2 network or whoever gets the iphone in Ireland IF it is ever released in Ireland with such a small population Apple may decide it is not worth it too release it in Ireland.

Stealthsim says similar "maybe 1.1.3" of course they have no idea whether it will or will not work with 1.1.3 or even if 1.1.3 will be able to be jailbroken

Anyone purchasing this or any Xsim solution should do so on the basis that only 1.1.2 can be guaranteed to work

Assuming O2 Ireland does carry the Iphone, and assuming they support the visual voicemail feature, I wonder if non-local Iphones will be able to use it?

cdedru, is there a difference between the US, UK, FR, and DE phones? I thought they we're all the same, but only worked in their specific country?! Or was the iphonesimfreer simply modelled/hacked-together using a US phone (thus only allowing it to be used on an At&t phone)?

iphonesimfree worked by patching the bootloader, it should work no matter what phone, but at the same time

There is NO unlock for 1.1.2 software version out of the box phones, this currently includes all european iphones and any US iphone bought from mid november onwards

Right Lads, I have just set up a new network on my iMac and my iPhone detected it no bother. Everything works bar YouTube (which does work if I use Edge when I go wi-fi). Anybody got any ideas?

Also, does it mean that when I choose my own network from the iMac to surf the net using the iPhone around the house that I will not incur any costs, as opposed to using Edge, which I'm told is very expensive?

    Thanks.

iphone will always use a wireless network as it's first preference for network traffic.

dan, does this youtube fix have to be installed for youtube to work? using my jailbreaked 1.1.2 (waiting on stealthsim) to use internet/etc. and the youtube is working no problems.

If its working fine there is no need.

please clarify, I got an iPhone last week in Boston, I've jailbreaked it fine but am now looking to get it working on vodafone. Will stealthsim work?

Btw, iPhone browser beats any PDA I've ever had (ipaq, imate)

    welcome back dan

any chance you have an answer to this (or any1 else)

in on 1.12, and i have a pioneer bluetooth car stereo, i managed to pair the the devices, but unlike my old sony erricsson the phone isnt recognised automatically when i enter the car, i have to open up the stereo connections and do what called a direct connect each time, this takes about 5 secs each time and i would prefer not to have to do it. any suggestions or solution?
