I saw it in Tesco Roscommon today. I think there was only one left but there could be more in the back. Tesco closes at 6 o' clock today.

I doubt there will be 30% off this price - that would make it only €490

Most HD plasmas are 1024*768....full HD plasma is still in a more premium price bracket and only done by Panny and Pioneer AFAIK.

Almost sure this is an LCD not plasma

i presume this offer includes ps3 and xboxes'?

I had a look at one of these today and wasn't impressed. It was side by side with a 42" Philips and both playing the same DVD. The picture quality was very poor in comparison. I didn't even bother asking the model number or specs.
Maybe it wasn't setup correctly or something but it just wasn't right.

If it can be got for €699 minus 30% then it's probably a bargain.

This deal is happening starting tomorrow in Tesco.

€699 Seg 42" LCD (not sure specs - think it's SEG Rhodos Schwarz)
    €899 Nordmende 42" LCD (model number NM42780)
€999 Philips 42" Widescreen Flat TV LCD (model number 42PFP5332\10)

Offer DOES include Audio/Visual, so Nintendo DS's, XBoxes, PS3s, iPods, TVs, etc....

Their XBox deal is €369 and has Forza 2 and Viva Pinata free. (take 30% off it)

Also... Just to confirm... you get VOUCHERS back in feb... You don't get money off it.

I know nothing about the dunnes offer, but here's what I did find when trying to compare the tesco ones...

    Philips vs SEG
    - Philips has 3x the brightness of the Seg. (1500cd/m2 vs 500cd/m2)
    - SEG (1036 x 270 x 737), Philips (1047 x 264 x 764)
    - Sound Output power: seg 2x8w, philips 2x10w
    - Internet tells me that the Philips is a Plasma... Box also doesn't say LCD anywhere... It says "Pixel plus"..
    - Resolution: Philips (1024 x 768), Seg (1920 x 1080)
    - Weight (without stand): Philips (31.5kg), SEG (30kg)
    - Both have 2 HDMI connections, 2 Scarts, Philips has svideo, but can't find anything to say that the seg has any.)
    - Inputs: Philips (480p, 720p, 1080i, 480i, 576i, 576p), SEG (720p (50Hz760Hz), 1080i (50Hz/60Hz), 1080p (Full HD))
    - Reaction time: Seg (6.5ms), Philips (2ms)
    - Viewing Angle: Seg (176 degrees), Philips (174 degrees)

Can't figure out which one I want.. anyone know anything that might change my mind?
