    i agree.

Portsmouth are a very decent side

Meh, Reading scored 4 at pompy. Conceded 7 but scored 4 nonetheless. Pompy have only scored 7 at home in the last 9 games and all of those came in the one match.

Thought Neimi was a bit poor for the first 2 Spurs goals. Keane put the first one back across fairly close. Not saying he'd have got it but he might have got a hand if he made the effort and dived. The 2nd was fairly close to him when it crossed the line too. Just smacked of lack of effort and that he wasnt really interested.

Only just saw Torres goal now. Super goal, made the Derby lads look like fools.

Liverpool missed a few very good chances to wrap the game up in the first half. Babel missed a bit of a sitter (should have hit the target minimum) from Riise's cross. Carra showed why he's stricktly a 1 goal a decade man.:)

Unearthly you got it spot on. The reason they call it the "big four" is because of the gap in quality and as long as you're not going to Emirates, Anfield, the Bridge or Trafford you should expect and deserve 3 points.

Clueless. The gap between Liverpool and the likes of Everton, Man City and Villa is far from huge. And lets get 1 things straight, you only deserve 3 points, if you outperform and are more efficient than your opponent. What a ridiculous ridiculous attitude tbh.

The top 4 teams are simply better teams than any other of the teams below them, I don't see how not beating any of them can be considered a 'good result'

Infact just read original post and said not a bad result, ah well

Where did I debate that? My point was that teams shouldn't expect or deserve 3 points. Favouritism means nothing in football and that lads blatant sunshinism in saying that had to be called. Teams should expect no wins, thats how teams become underestimated. And they certainly do not deserve any result until they've gone out and put in the performance. With each game being judged on their own measures.

The top 4 teams should expect to win the games, as for deserve, well you can only say that after the game. For example Man Utd didn't deserve anything from the Bolton game, but beforehand they would of expected to win.

Probably why they lost then. Expecting any result is ridiculous. You only get the result you deserve. Sometimes luck factors in too.

You can expect and still prepare properly. We had players out of form, struggled with Boltons gameplan .

Are you honestly saying Ferguson doesn't go into games expecting to win?

That is exactly what I'm saying. He is an intelligent man and knows that any team that is good enough to be in the Premiership has the ability to perform out of their skins against the big sides and that are all potential banana skins.

If they are banana skins, then that means something made them slip up for what should of been an expected result.

This has to be the most random debate ever :D

Classic wingplay from Petrov in the City/Blackburn game

Handed a tap in to Bianchi(which he somehow missed), Vassell who obliged to score, and caused an OG

I said he'd be good enough for a top 4 team in that other topic and he impresses me

I think he is a great player too - but he looked so good in the first half mainly because of who was marking him, it has been a different story since Emerton has been switched to right back to mark him.

Saying teams shouldn't expect a win is ridiculous. The teams expect to win, the bookies expect them to win, the fans expect them to win. And at this stage if any of the top four want to win the league then they should aim and expect to win all their games against 5th and lower teams.

I agree I chose the wrong word in "deserve" because you get the result you play for. But if any of the big four drop points against teams 5th or lower its considered a great win for the other team and a poor loss for the big four side.

Winning sides have to instill a sense of superiority into their players and getting the players to have a winning mentality and expect to win games is all part of a successful side. No team going in with a "sure lets play a game and see how it goes" attitude is going to be in with a shot of the title.
