I once rode a woman from Leitrim. I would have been quicker getting the bus.

I don't see what the problem is with prostitution. It is like some people want to make sex a taboo subject.

Yeah it should be legalized.. No reason for it not to be tbh.

If it was legalised there would be 21% VAT at point of entry.

    Any subsequent fees regarding quality?

    Also, which county?

Plus if it were legalized then there would have to be a governing body. Like the sexual regulators or something.

All women must meet minimum standards of fúckability.

Let Ryanair run it as a franchise.

    1c a ride.
    Checking in your sack €5.
    Feeling up charge €5
Putting it in charge an extra €1.
Taking it out charge an extra €1.
Putting it in again charge an extra €1
    You get the picture...

One thing though, when you deal with Ryanair you know you're in for a good rogering.

I'm sure they can charge you for being overweight too.

    Yes.

Wasn't there some big prostitution scandal years ago and the cops basically said that there's no law stopping someone giving another person a gift (of money) for sex. Pimping and whore houses are illegal but getting payed for sex isn't.

I it was legalised the prices would quicky fall below the likes of Prague (for tourists). No brainer so.

i think "living on the proceeds of prostitution" is also a crime.

Can't think of any reason for it not to be legal... think the main argument is that it would result in trafficking, or something (even though that happens already).

    George Carlin put it best:

Why should prostitution be illegal. Selling is legal. F*cking is legal. Why isn't selling f*cking legal? You know, why should it be illegal to sell something that's perfectly legal to give away. I can't follow the logic on that at all. Of all the things you can do to a person, giving someone an orgasm is hardly the worst thing in the world. In the army they give you a medal for spraying napalm on people. Civilian life, you go to jail for giving someone an orgasm. Maybe I'm not supposed to understand it.

Yeah I'd be in favour of this. But only in recognised and relatively remote "red light" areas.

It might even help curb Irelands sexual assault rate.

Dont see the need for prostitution myself. As if guys got good at the mating game ( flirting, empressing a lady etc) they wouldn't have to pay for it.

Are people who use prostitutes just lazy.

Its like buying a trophy rather than winning it.

I'd imagine it's more about the convenience.

Yeah but there are people out there who just will never score. EVER. (Too old, too ugly, too weird,.. whatever)

    For their sake.

I spent a few years in SE Asia. I always disliked the prostitutes. Rarely pitied them. (never used their services)

They are the lazy ones. It isnt a hard life at all. There were people out working in rice fields in small villages, bordering on poverty. These girls took the easy option. For hanging around in bars, drinking and playing with their mobile phones, they get a life of fancy motorbikes, jewelry and an apartment.

All they had to do was lose their self respect and the respect of their peers.

If a woman wants to sell her body for money, whats that got to do with respect? If it is truly her choice (and I fully acknowledge that there are multitudes out there for whom prostitution is not a choice but a necessity) then respect has nothing to do with it. Just taking solely the women who don't need or aren't forced to sell their bodies to men... its a trade/skill like any other. Some people are good at football. Some are good at sex. (I'm good at neither but thats here nor there :-) ). Some are highly desirable and have the open-mindedness to make a living out of it. So long as they're careful, more power to them I say.

I doubt I'd ever "use" a prostitute, but I don't eat pizza's either. Doesn't mean I think less of those that make pizza's for a living.

    Prostitution is already legal.

    It's illegal to -

    Manage a prostitute (pimp)
    Advertise prostitution
    Solicit on the street

If a girl is a prostitute, on her own, in her apartment, and doesn't advertise in Irish publications, it is perfectly legal.

Regarding the lack of respect comment... just because you think prostitution is wrong or wouldn't be a prostitute doesn't mean ****. If a girl wants to have sex for money, that is her choice and should be respected. I think religion is nuts but I wouldn't dare say we should ban it...

I've often heard prostitution referred to as the oldest job in the world.

I always wondered where the hell the men got the money to pay for it.
