Apple havent done it yet though which is kinda wierd as the likes of turbo sim have been around since day one and has always worked.I reckon it will in maybe 1.1.3 but def 1.1.4.

It makes a difference if people believe that 1.12 oob will never be software unlocked and that there only option is to buy a stealthsim.

yes but turbosim is techie and difficult and rare as hens teeth the software is what apple were concentrating on till now

I Never said there only option is to buy a stealthsim I just gave my opinion on i dont think there will be a unlock soon. I am only giving AN Option not THE Option.At the end of the day i am trying to help people and always have on this forum as well as you, but dont try and say i am trying to lead people in thinking the only way to unlock the iphone is via hardware method.

no dan I'm not suggesting that you are trying to mislead people in anyway I 'm just pointing out that there still could be a software unlock which I'm sure you agree.
Personally I think the stealthsim is a great option for those who do not want to wait for a software unlock. I will more than likely buy one myself when you get them presuming the phone has not been software unlocked by then:D

Yeah its a waitin game and very long one, i have been in contact with a member of the dev team (I have contacts

) and he said they doubt apple will update the baseband or bootloader. But you never know with apple they are full of surprises.

1. First, take note of what your voicemail number is with your current provider ie. Meteor 171.
2. Click the phone button in your iPhone.
3. Click the keypad tab.
4. Type the following code: *5005*86*171#
Where 171(meteor) is your voicemail number, using the Meteor example, you would be typing *5005*86*171#
5. Hit call.
6. Give it a bit, and the code will be set.
7. Hit the voicemail button, and it will now call your voicemail.

ive just noticed something, ive put 4 new songs on my phone via itunes but all my other songs that i had on it already have disappeared but my videos are still there, why?

no i just added the files to my library, ticked them and then synced , but i unticked all the other ones that were already on my phone, i thought they would come up twice, is that why they are gone?

I would of thought that would be the problem, being honest I hate iTunes but iTunes will never add it twice

yeah i ticked them all again and synced and they are all there again, i hate itunes too, so used to media player syncing, its much easier and not half as complicated, ive also noticed something else, i have only one free usb port on my desktop (2 are not working) so i use an external usb hub, but itunes doesnt recognise my phone when its connected via the hub, the phone will charge via the hub but to do anything else i have to keep pulling the desktop out and plug the usb straight into the desktop at the back, why wont it recognise when in the hub?

You plug it into the back of your desktop and the you can plug your iphone into it rather than going to the back of the desktop:

Just wanted to say that I received my iphone from unlockthatiphone.com today:D I must admit that they stepped up the service after the intial lack of contact... I was just reading the last few posts here about the stealthsims and I was just wondering if apple get around this loophole your talking about will that mean that phones using the stealthsims currently wont work anymore? Will you have to try and re-unlock them as such?

It will be like a software unlock don't update the firmware. We won't know anything till 1.1.3 but its works with 1.1.2 the current firmware.

Ok great thanks! And I was reading something about which version of Itunes to use/not use? Does this matter? I currently have v7.4 on my laptop but i'm getting asked to update to v7.5 Just want to make sure it wont impact the iphone before i do anything!

I doubt they will update the bootloader unless they have to but I can't see how they can avoid updating the baseband even if not due to a new country being rolled out at least to address the o2 reception issues in the uk

But as you say nobody can second guess apple

Are there reception issues in the uk? Wasnt aware of that. I no the problem with "Offical Unlocked phones" not working in some countrys because they are not supported but works with iworld.

your phone will continue to work on 1.12 just don't update until a reliable source has posted a safe method

You could get stuck on1.12 but that is the same for anyone on a software unlock on 1.12
the only issue is that you might need to buy a new stealthsim if you really wanted to upgrade where the turbosim might be able to be reprogrammed
to update
but you can't get a turbosim at the moment so its pretty academic if you want a phone you can use now

Of course if a new software unlock becomes available you could always go with that
in fact the more people who buy stealtsim the more likely that apple will update the baseband and we will hopefully get a software unlock

Do you need your sim inserted to use wifi? I'm trying to connect to my wireless network at home (goes through a Belkin 54g router & no password set) and when i try to open safari on my iphone it says it cant connect because it cant find server. Any ideas? I've tried resetting the network settings but no luck.
