server not down and as i said its cos your baseband.I think that my forth time saying it.I gave you a guide how to fix it. Cant do anymore.

Well there is a thread over on macrumours discussing the exact same issue with jailbreakme.com and if you do a search it is a common enough problem.
I would not go messing with the baseband just yet until you have ruled out something simpler

Someone suggests having your iphone connected to the pc via the USB cable when you do the appsnap can't see it making a difference but it is worth a try.

I am just about to jailbreak a phone now I will let you know how it goes (if i have a problem with appsnap)

Guys my iphone is jailbreaked. Problem is that itunes isn't recognising the ipod when its plugged in. When i plug it in only the camera is being found.

A freind of mine unlocked the iphone for me on his computer and the ipod was found on his computer yet its not being found on mine. I've tried a few different versions of itunes thinking it may have been that.

Any idea's?

Hey folks,

my uncle is bringing me back an iPhone from Canada. He says it's "unlocked", and that's the extent of my information on it.

I'm with Meteor at the mo, but have no qualms about changing network if needs be.

Will it work for me over here (Ireland), do ye think?

Dec. 12/07 - I'm back. Yes, I'm still alive. And yes, your Christmas present is coming... I'm sitting here with a 1.1.2 phone I just jailbroke and activated with my latest code. I just need to clean up a few things and then I'll release it very soon. In the meantime, grab your favorite beer (Ephemere Pomme in my case) and put Back In Black and Jailbreak on repeat. Life's too crazy to take seriously. Seriously.

Not really anything closer to an unlock jailbreaking and activating 1.12 has been available for weeks this might make it a little easier via a GUI but thats it

It could be that it is synced to your friends computer so you need to set it up on yours

or it could be the method he used to jailbreak it if he used slovix instead of jailbreakme.com that can happen that iphone cannot sync

Still very useful. I have 3 more iPhones I need to jailbreak and activate. A GUI would make this less tiresome. "Every little helps"

dan im doing that guide you gave me, after i write the commands in iphuc the phone goes to the activation screen, so i dial the *#301# and do the usual but it will not install the appsnap, i must have tried it about 40 times last night ill try again in a bit, would i be better restoring 1.1.1 again first though?

Hi amanda

The battery was dead on the phone so i charged it last night and did it this morning

AND

exact same result as you

safari crashes but the iphone does not reboot goes back to the activate screen no springboard so it suggests that there is a problem with the jailbreak website i think

I will try a different method later let you know how it goes

i had this exact problem when i was trying to crack my iphone.

it tried for two days repeatidly logging onto jailbreakme.com and everyone was telling me to keep retrying it will work eventually ! it definately wasnt working for me !

my advice to you would be to use the CARNAVAL by brasuco method.

really the only difference to the method you are using at the moment is that you have to download a small zip file and connect the iphone to the PC

and then you go to appsnap as usual but this time CARNAVAL takes over.

you have to reboot the phone about 4 times but literally that is all, there are on screen instruction (on the pc) all the way.

its so simple my dog could do it.

after 2 days of grief i had my iphone cracked in 10mins max !

it installs anysim, installer all in one go, so once you have done the above, you stick your sim in, run anysim and voila - fully working iphone !

As I said chaps, I experienced exactly the same thing myself the other day. I just kept repeating and repeating.. eventually it worked.

no mate its not an ootb 1.1.1, it was on 1.0.2 before i updated it, so im not sure if that method will work for me, anyone know?

im trying to connect to the jailbreak site, i can connect to it on the pc,and now again on the iphone but when i hit install appsnap it does nothing

the same thing, it just throws me back to the activation screen and sits there doing nothing
