At the moment if you buy it from the only official reseller, it costs €100 delivered of which €40 is for postage. So at least with an Irish seller you would be looking at around €65 delivered. Still a bit much though when you consider what it is!

It will be more than €65. Don't forget that the Irish reseller will have to pay import duty and shipping charges in to Ireland, and the consumer will have to pay VAT @ 21%. This will all add to the price of locally purchased stealth sims. Although, if the Irish reseller is smart he'll import to an address in the North and pay only 17.5% VAT. Assuming, of course, there's enough demand for the product to go to that extent.

I didn't think you had to pay import duty within the EU? StealthSIM are made in Greece by iphonehellas.

Apologies. If that is the case then you are correct. I thought they were coming from Canada, no?

At the moment, yes. Canada seems to be the only place. According to their news they are all sold out in Europe but I don't recall it ever being on sale in Europe.

its on 1.1.1 but it wont activate for me, when i hit install appsnap just throws me back to the activation screen, i had it activated and jailbroken on 1.1.2 yesterday but i didnt know i was supposed to downgrade the baseban while i was installing oktoprep so the anysim 1.2.1u just kept telling me it could not unlock the phone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,658 ✭✭✭PowerHouseDan

what modem version do you have :
On the activation screen, slide to make an emergency call, then dial the following:

    *3001#12345#*

and hit the call button. This will take you into field test mode, from here, click on "Versions" down the bottom. This will give you some information on the iPhone. It will tell us the Modem Firmware Version and the LCD Panel ID. Jot down the Modem Firmware.

it wont let me downgrade to 1.0.2 from 1.1.1 , should i restore it to 1.1.2 and then downgrade?

    @PowerhouseDan,
Mate, mine was done using anySIM. I followed the guide posted on page 18 of this very thread. Seems like an age ago now. Would be handy if I could just upgrade to 1.1.2, then do the downgrade and upgrade again as the guide outlines. Is this known to work 100% as there are a lot of steps to it. All is well on 1.0.2 with me but I don't want to be left behind when another update comes out.

    now this
Bypass activation and prepare phone for software installation
    1. Make sure you have a SIM-card with PIN turned off, and power on your phone (the supplied AT&T card works fine).
    2. On the activation screen, slide for emergency and dial: *#301# to make the phone call itself. (If the incoming call dialog quickly disappears but it keeps ringing, just dial 0 (remove *#301# first), and it will call itself)
    3. Answer the call, and tap on Hold
    4. Phone will call it self again, tap Decline. You will now be returned to the normal dialer.
    5. Tap on contacts, and tap the + icon to add a new. The only info you are going to add to this contact are two URL's. To add a URL, tap Add new URL. The first URL is prefs followed by a colon: prefs: and the second is jailbreakme.com. Tap Save.
    6. Your contact now has two "web pages" - tap on the first one (prefs:). This will take you to the settings dialog. The reason you want this, is because you need to connect to a Wi-Fi network, so tap on Wi-Fi, and get connected to a network, and make sure the icon on top of the screen is indicating that you are connected. While you are in the settings dialog, you should also set: General → Auto-Lock → Never.
    7. Now, press the home button, and again, slide for emergency dial 0, Answer the call, Hold and Decline the new call so that you get to the contacts. Tap on your contact (No Name), and this time tap on the other home page, jailbreakme.com
    8. Safari will launch and show you a webpage. Read through the text, before you Install AppSnapp
    9. Phone will return to activation screen, but don't panic, just wait.
    10. Phone should automaticly restart after almost a minute. . If it does not restart withing 2 minutes, click here.
    11. When the phone starts again, it should no longer say slide for emergency, but rather Slide to unlock It means it was successfull! Activation is now bypassed, and phone prepared for software installation!
