Well I said I'd post this up, it's just me sticking some wc gear into a shiny new V2000B :D The specs are as follows:

    V2000B
    PA120.3 - D5 - EK Res 250 - Apogee GTX
    MCR220 - D5 - Ek Res 250 - EK NB block - MCW60 GPU block
    8800GTS 640
    Q6600
    Asus P5K Premium
    2GB Ballistix
    Hitachi Deskstar 320GB x2

Anyway I've taken lots of pics but not to bore you I said I'd just throw up a couple for now. The project is far from finished but this is basically all I have so far!

    1.JPG
A shot with ambient light, the window's tinted like papu's.

    5.JPG
The Acryan Hexx mesh I used for the rad intake vents.

    4.JPG
Internal shot with the lights on showing the uv plexi back thingy..

    3.JPG
Another showing a bit of the bay cover.

    2.JPG
A close up of the fan and grill.

I'll throw up some more soon, just have to find the time to work on it a bit more...

It's film, and yeah the baycover and all the various bits I'll be sticking to case are made by me, mostly from plexi and aluminium. The baycover is uv blue plexi with black anodised alu on top. I'll be mounting the dual res' there hence the various holes.

And thanks Anti, I hope to get more pics and a bit more work done later!

    Ok a little more....

    DSCF0517a.JPG
Here we have a seemingly normal DVD drive, a little hacked up but nothing unusual..

    DSCF05193.JPG
And this is a wire sticking out from the drive...

    DSCF05202.JPG
Touch the wire and.. BAM the drive is open!

How, you say? Well with the help of a QT113 touch ic and a little bit of soldering I built a simple circuit that can sense when a human touch is nearby, this means I can place the electrode (whatever metal I attach to the wire) behind for example a plexi panel and it will work. A touch switch!

    Here's some internal shots:

    DSCF04504.JPG
The circuit stuck inside the drive with the output soldered to the correct points inside the drive, I've also replaced the stock led with a blue one.

    DSCF04425.JPG
The circuit itself as you can see it is really simple, just the ic and a cap. It gets powered from a +5v point I've taken from the drive. The output is white, with the green going to the electrode.

I've also got one for the power switch and one for switching the case lighting. The light switch was a little more complex using an NPN transistor to actually do the power switching.
