    Gordon Freeman

Vortigaunt: No pit would be complete without the Freeman climbing out of it.
    Dr. Breen to Gordon Freeman:
Yes. I'm talking to you, the so-called One Free Man. I have a question for you. How could you have thrown it all away? It staggers the mind. A man of science, with the ability to sway reactionary and fearful minds toward the truth, choosing instead to embark on a path of ignorance and decay. Make no mistake, Dr. Freeman. This is not a scientific revolution you have sparked...this is death and finality.

There was a programme a few years back on the BBC where they tried to put a face to him and they went into detail on the information that is known about him. Also got this from Wikipedia:

also I think the strongest evidence they have for his existence is a tomb stone for a Jesus who had a brother named James, which doesn't really tell us much at all. and the bulk of the evidence after that they have i believe is a Jesus who was involved in a political movement, not any spiritual movement afaik?

Historical Jesus is quite well documented and, for the sake of argument: proven. Hysterical Jesus, now...

Okay. fine. I'll give you this but I just wish when he did the dashing-off-into-a-telephone-box-to-change thing that he'd come back out with some clothes on.

WonderWoman as she is a princess who never needed a prince to come rescue/find her.

+1 for this. How can you have a best superhero list without including batman?

Batman should be on the list but how could you forget super ted

    Swamp Thing! "You are amazing!"

Or The Flash - he could crack one off before you could say "That's highly inappropriate"!

and there lies the problem, always looking up for someone else to sort it out..
    Indeed.
People need ot take responsibility for their own actions and stop waiting for an American kid to end sectarian violence in NI.

Captain Planet! God that brings me back. Do the teenage mutant ninja turtles count as superheroes? Batman probably wins though. :D

They probably should have, given the number of times that she ended up being captured and tied up with her own damn lasso

Claire from Heroes by a long way. I can't see either Superman or Jesus looking half as sexy in a cheerleader's outfit.

About the Jesus thing, it has been proven he existed. He's only been dead for 2007 years, people can be traced back that far relatively easliy. Whether he was the son of god or just son of a carpenter is another debate.

    Oh and The Flash FTW.

Any hero who feels the only solution is armageddon, and has the powers to do it, gets my vote. Good well reasoned thinking IMO.

Y'ey what's the story here? you've got fairly limited choice on the poll. I came in to vote silver surfer but there is no silver surfer option or even my fallback choice which woud have been the dark knight. Shake yourself here. You have put an actual dead human as one of the only two choices. I find this hard to credit. Don't you know dead humans are useless in a fight? They just go limp and that is that. No special powers whatsoever. We will be ridiculed by the Legion of Doom if we send corpses against them.

I am a little dissapointed in your poll TBH but suppose that at least it is laughable.

    I don't like superheroes.

I've always rooted for the villains. Underneath their flaws they're well intentioned just misunderstood.
