Give Smyths a call. Picked up a Black one there at weekend. Had piles of them behind the counter.

    Smiley,
I'm in the same boat but hope to have one this week.

If your determined to get one then contact Smyths/Gamestop every 2/3 days and check whether they have them in.

They are available online(ebay) but works out more expensive and you loose out on taking bundle offers.

    Are they hard to get?
My bf is suppose to be getting me one for xmas and he is a bit of a late shopper. Do you reckon they will be all gone?

Argus had them recently. Have some good bonus pack offers too (ds lite, nintendogs carry case + pets corner game for 189.00)

    davmigil,When was this?
I tried 1/2 the Argos in the country last Thursday/Friday and there were none to be found.
Yes, the pink ones are harder to get. No guarantee of getting one through a brick and mortar shop at this stage....but my fingers are crossed that you do.

Week and a half ago, so maybe stocks depleted since. Went to the Liffey Valley store, had none but staff were able to tell me which stores had stocks and reserved it for me.

Am just back from Liffey valley, Argos there were out of stock as were Virgin who didnt know when theyw ere getting them back in and game only had black ones but not a massive selection of games for the bundles.

BUT both Virgin and Argos in Blanch had them (saw someone getting a pink in Virgin) , was gonna leave it to a bit closer to Christmas but heard they are starting to get a bit scarce.

have just rung Virgin in blanchardstown; they're sold out now. They're getting some more consoles in before the weekend but can't tell if there'll be pink ones in the shipment.

I got a pink one in New York last week with three games and three extra stylus for 108 euros!!!

Only raging i didnt wait until later to get my dollars and it wouldve been cheaper:D

Given that this is the bargain thread, does anybody know where I'll get a DS cheap? I want one for myself but not paying more than 120 for one.

Not opposed to a second hand one. Have tried Adverts, Buy and Sell and Gumtree, also eBay but I'm a bit wary of the foreign models......

    any advice??

Back in stock in Argos ( Ilac centre anyway). Not a bargain at €149.99 and not in pink.

I've had no luck finding a pink DS lite in Ireland so I ended up ordering one from amazon.com, its a special edition Nintendo DS Lite Metallic Rose with a free game Nintendogs Best Friends. Cost me $149.99 which is roughly €100. If I could find the same here I'd pay €180 for it. I'm having it shipped to my PO Box in the states, then shipped to Ireland. Even with customs and shipping it will be a lot cheaper than buying here, thats if I could find one here.

Nintendo DS Lite Metallic Rose with Nintendogs Best Friends (NDS Pink Bundle)

My friend bought one last week but didnt tell her husband. He came home with one this week. Now she has two - unopened and with receipts. She would probably see one at face value. PM me. I dont want to annoy the mods by touting something for sale.

    Tallaght Dublin area.

While this is not the place to discuss this I'd like to point out that I'd have no qualms about passing the picket line. Argos are following the terms of the National Wage Agreement which has been ratified by both the LRC and the Labour Court. The workers union, Mandate, withdrew the from social partnership last year. I'm happy to see Argo flying in workers in order to keep shops open so its customers can go about their business in the run up to Christmas. Well done Argos.

As its not the place to talk about here, All I will say on the matter, look how much argos is worth as a company and then ask yourself is it right that they should only pay their workers the minumn wage.

    I'll leave it at that.

There is absolutely no excuse for passing a picket,...NONE,.. it's a cowardly shameful act, when your child unwraps their Argus bought DS,Wii or Xbox on Christmas morning just remember the level you sunk to in order to get it.

Working in Argos is a non-skilled job, Argos currently pay above minimum wage, Argos are following the terms of the National Wage Agreement which has been ratified by both the LRC and the Labour Court. I hate unions, they threatened us with power cuts last month, they shut the transport system in parts of Dublin cos bus drivers weren't getting paid to travel to work, they threated to stop flights flying out of Dublin. Enough is enough.
