solididfied cod liver oil - ok to consume?

I got a bottle of cod liver oil with orange juice. The box was sealed and the date was 2009.
It's very thick - more solid than fluid. It smells and tastes ok.
I guess it is something to do with having being exposed to low temperature maybe, since the consistency of other oils can change due to this.
Anyone know why it's like that? Warming it up will fix it?
    Thanks

letting it warm up should liquefy it. the same sort of thing happens to other oils, such as oilve oil, when they cool down too much.
