    No.

    Banned.

Isn't that not a bit harsh? The thread in a sense is about having Polish as a third official language, let a user gets banned for using the 1st official language.

Not like anything he was saying was particulary complex to follow.

I don't normally read the newspapers anymore. Everything online. But picked up a Herald recently and was surprised that the middle of it was all in Polish.

    Hi,

Here's what Poles think of "polski" as a 3rd language (look on the top)

    1. Absurd, ridiculous, sick idea. (majority)
    2. Why not? (a few fools)
    3. Yeah, sure... (this option was added just for fun)

    http://www.gazeta.ie/forum/index.php?showtopic=36334

Find it sick idea myself. I didn't come to Ireland to get another Poland here...

    [smug]Exactly as I predicted above![/smug]

    :D
I know quite a few Poles and Lithuanians who live (and work damn hard) in Ireland, and they would laugh their holes off at this idea.

Would that be as result of a wrong image, built on low educated part of polish immigration in Ireland? Normal ones will live here, love the country and will integrate - loosers won't. And no one feels sorry for them. :D

Hmmm ... it may be a contributing factor ...

Personally, though, I would look more towards the prejudices of a small number of vocal locals on this forum ...

I like polish people! this is my honest opinion. i like polish, irish, american, hungarian, dutch, french, swedish, african, german, australian and ALL people over the world. but we have to respect the different languages in the different countries. that is a important thing, i think.
when i want to live in another country, i have to respect the language over there and i have to learn the language over there. otherwise i can`t work and live in a foreign country.

it is true, it would be very easy to have your own native language in a foreign country where you live. it would be very easy to understand the administrative things of the foreign country for yourself. but if you want to live and work in another country, you HAVE to learn the language over there. otherwise it would takes a long time to learn the language, mentality etc.. I think, it is very important to make your own experience in a foreign country, including the foreign language.

the same i`d be valid of a english (or some other foreign) people. if english people wants to live in germany, i`d expect, that they wants to learn german, because they wants to understand the german occurrence or something like that.

i`m not from ireland. i`m from germany and my english is very bad. but i give all my best to learn english as good as possible. and it`s annoys me, if there is a guy, he wants his own native language in a foreign country, because it`s would be much more easy for him to live over there.

by the way: ask a polish people about a special situation with the germans around 70 years ago. there was a special guy from austria and he was thinking about this the same. the end of the story was awful. the polish people were not amused of it. i know, that situation was another one and i know, that is another way of thinking. but the result is probably the same.

No not a chance should it be an official launguage!
    I mean c'mon its Ireland.
We don't even speak our proper launguage so why should we even consider polish.
I've nothing against the polish community but when you move to another country make an effort to learn the launguage properly. Don't expect your launguage to become an official state launguge. Thats just arrogance.

    Rant over

Lads, this tread died over a month ago.

Nobody seriously suggested to make polish an official language here. It was just one fella who wrote an article in the polish paper. Even poles laughed at him.

    You can let it go.

    I'm disgusted with this Idea!
I'm Italian and I came here 10 years ago and I had to struggle to start everything from scratch. These guys come here for a few years with no language and expect that everybody else will learn their? Sounds to me lazyness.....

as some people already wrote it is only a stupid idea of one fecker who is even not recognized in polish community. how many times should we repeat it ???????????????????????????????????

If somebody ( nobody) will say that every one will receive 1k euro as a gift will u start to complain and write few hundred posts about an idiot who said something ?????

Please take it as a joke of an asshole and stop complaining as it make no any sense. New people are reading this thread and cos almost nobody read all posts but usually first and last page people are getting exciting about some crazy idea.
