When BoI start the IBAN thing, what do you do to send it directly there?

    EDIT;

I'm guessing this means we can do the IBAN thing now?

When you log in to your wirecard account you can go to your account details and that will show your IBAN and SWIFT/BIC number. You use these and your name (as you used on your wirecard account) to send the money. There are optional fields where you can leave a message for the recipient. It is recommended to put your wirecard account number and the mobile number you gave Wirecard in there to help smooth out any problems that may arise.

However you better hope that nothing ever does go wrong because I've all but lost faith in their ability to solve anything. I just got an email from them. The exact same email they sent me TWO WEEKS ago asking me for details. So I sent them back a blistering email demanding my money to be in either my Wirecard or AIB accounts pronto or there will be trouble. Or at least for them to contact me so I can move things along (as they've barely managed to do that).

i set it up on wednesday morning but have to wait for an activation code from boi in the post before i can do a transfer. what is wrong with them that they couldnt use a code card like aib? anyway i'd advise waiting until i run a test on the iban before anyone else gets screwed.

regarding the customer service its a disgrace. they look to have only one or two prepared responses and if your query falls outside its ignored. have to wait until the 24th to get my money back.this third party nonsense is just a smoke screen.

well i sent off my verification documents today so I might soon get that elusive fiver credited to my account! I'm guessing its still in Wirecard limbo.

As soon as I'm verified I can accept third party transfers (ones not made by myself) so everybody feel free to lodge to my account! :D

sorry im not an expert on eu law.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,113 ✭✭✭subway

you dont need to be an expert, its spelt out to you on the "i dont know what a tracker mortgte is" website
this is the irish version, mandated by the eu directive linked above

Under anti-money laundering law, you have to supply documents to prove who you are and where you live. You can prove your identity by producing:

    a valid passport
    a current Irish driving licence
a National Age Card (issued by An Garda Siochana)
an identification form with a photograph signed by a member of An Garda Siochana
documents issued by Government departments showing your name.
Government documents must be verified by a statement from a person in a position of responsibility such as a solicitor, accountant, doctor, community employment scheme supervisor or social worker. That person must come to the bank themselves with proof of their own identity.

You will need one of the following to prove where you live:

a current utility bill (such as a gas, electricity or telephone or mobile phone bill)
a current motor or home insurance policy that shows your address
a document issued by a Government department that shows your address
a list of your tax credits
a current balancing statement or a C2 certificate from the Revenue Commissioners
a social insurance document that shows your address
a letter from your employer or licensed employment agency stating that you have recently arrived in Ireland and have started work but cannot yet provide evidence of your Irish address (you will have to provide evidence of your address at a later date).

My account is still locked after emailing my photocopy's of receipt, bills and passport, They now say they need a photocopy of the Receipt that shows my name and expiry date on it. Sent email yesterday telling them about 3V and it doesnt show name/date/cvv2 on it and how I've had this trouble before when adding my other voucher, Stating that all the info i sent was exactly the same as last time (but newer bills and 3v voucher).

Just hope its enough or my account will stay locked as i cant give them anything else :/

Its really weird, I had about 150 in my wirecard account and I bought a phone on the vodafone site for 139.. and that amount went to the reserved section after I bought it and I thought grand.. anyway, have the phone about a week now, and I just checked my wirecard account today and the money is gone back to available! So it looks like im after getting a free phone!!
I think im going to leave it a few days to see if it sorts itself out then email vodafone and see if the payment went through or not.. because this is really strange, also, there is no record of vodafone charging anything to the card on the overview page.....

This is what happens when merchants don't present transactions to their clearing bank in time. They have 7 days to do so. If they don't as in this case the money becomes available again and in theory you could now go ahead and spend it again. ;)

Vodafone will likely just stick it thru again in a few days. It would be interesting if you had spent the money and they couldn't get theirs.

the thing about the registration is that ok fine its the law but wirecard advertise that registration is not required as long as certain limits are adhered. now they seem to be trying to bully people by holding money hostage under the guise of this third part nonsense. i for one will not register with them as I belive they are not trustworthy and anyway my credit card usage would be well under the limits.

I don't like what they're up to but they're still cheaper than 3V. Therefore I sent off the verification documents.

Q: Is there a deposit limit for my Wirecard account?
A: As soon as a limit amount for deposits in your Wirecard account is exceeded there is a legal requirement to have full identification of the account holder. You will be informed about such a limit by Wirecard Bank when you open your account or pay money into it.

Q: How are my personal data used?
A: The Wirecard Bank will use the personal data provided upon registration and during the use of the account only for purposes pertaining to the management of the account as well as for fraud prevention and risk management purposes.

    Dear Mr Subway,

As a German Bank, the Wirecard Bank is obliged to carry out identification of all its account holders. As soon as either your personal limit for the accumulated deposit sum is exceeded (as in your case), or 12 months have passed since the opening of your Wirecard account (whichever is the sooner) there is a legal requirement to make a full identification of the account holder. You will be informed of your limit by Wirecard Bank upon opening or reloading your account.

Initially you can deposit up to EUR 300.00 into your Wirecard account by credit card or direct debit. Once the money has cleared our bank account, you will receive an email from us with further information on how to increase your limits.

The option of bank wire as payment method is limited to a maximum of EUR 2,500.00 per year. For security reasons, a Wirecard customer service representative may contact you once we have received the money.

You can increase the deposit limit of your Wirecard account at any time. In order to do this, please request the contract for opening an online account and further instructions from our service team.

Additionally you will need to send a verified/notarized copy of your passport (or any other government issued picture ID) together with your account application. The verification/ notarization should be conducted by a public institution (e.g. consulate/embassy, police department) or by a bank.

Once you have complied with the above requirements and your documentation has been reviewed by us, you will receive an individual limit for your Wirecard account.

Should you have further questions about the information given above, please reply directly to this email, including our original text and ticket number.
This will help us to deal with your inquiry much faster.

    Kind regards

    Dear Mr effing SubWay,

I didn't get anywhere near the €2,500 wire transfer limit or the €300 other limit but still I've been told to verify. In fact I think I've lodged a total of €200 over the 6 months I've been using it.

You quote European law yet you can't honestly expect people to know about that. They should mention some of this on their site yet all it says is "open a Wirecard account in 30 secs".

Anyone get their money back or lodged into their account yet?

Also, anyone tried the new IBAN feature with BOI? Did it work?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 83 ✭✭Protocol7

Still waiting here. It doesn't look like it's gonna be lodged in my Wirecard account so I'm expecting it to show up back in my AIB account this week. I got the "third party" email from them on the 5th, so add on 14 days and they should have sent it back on the 19th (Friday).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 685 ✭✭✭jackbauer
