Just received a phone call from my mum (whose 67) who was inquiring if I have ever heard of the Holford Low GL diet.

Not being a fad of the numerous fad diets, I said I'd fget back to her about it.

Anyone ever heard of it (i'm finding it hard to get some decent informaion).

    Google "Glycemic Load"

It seems fine at a quick glance tbh. It's really just what people here advise all the time except some clever lad decided to make money out of it!

It just (seems to) recommend lean protein sources, decent choices of carbs and good fats, nothing wrong there.

exactly!! It's not a fad diet at all, more a healthy eating regime. Give it a thumbs up for your Mum.

I assume it's Patrick Holford. I heard him on Newstalk's The Wide Angle on Sunday and he seemed to be talking a lot of sense. I was planning to check out this book of his: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Optimum-Nutrition-Bible-About-Health/dp/0749918551
