Well said! A lot of the people who wear Celtic jerseys (These are not to be confused with the bona fide Celtic fans who know a bit about the game) wouldn't be able to name a couple of squad members. I'm not a Celtic fan but have travelled to see them play. More than can be said for your average 'Celtic Jersey wearer'. (Again not to be confused with Celtic fan).
As for irish connections, The likes of Man. Utd., Arsenal etc. have had many Irish players in their squads down the years.

The Taoiseach of this fine nation of Ireland himself Mr Bertie Ahern is a Man United fan and if the Chief of Chiefs supports them thats the best possible Irish connection I have heard in this thread.

So ergo Man united are the official Team of ireland

I agree with the comment on Celtic. If i had a choice over league of Ireland or the premiership i know what i'd choose!
