Will it even startup with 512mb RAM and Vista Premium?
Before I closed it down, the Vista Sidebar alone was using 1.5GB RAM on my Dell machine (and this was with no actual gadgets/widgets/whatever-they-are-called running it, just an empty sidebar).

Its Vista Basic at that price.

That couldn't be right. That means that everyone using Vista would need about 5gb of ram to run it and a few apps

    Cheers

Just stick in Allied Irish Banks. Worked fine for me when ordering both mine and my Dads earlier this year.

would the mobo accept pci-express gfx card. I know it's an upgrade option to get the 256MB ATI® Radeon® X1300 Pro PCI Express graphics card - but if you didnt get it, would the same motherboard be provided?

    Bugger. Missed that.
Also dont forget to order through Pigsback, if you're not gonna try the EPP. Get a free €12 cdwow voucher out of it anyway.

actually you cant remove the mouse as far as I can tell - it forces you at the end to fix the compatability issue?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,830 ✭✭✭unklerosco

Using firefox on the mac it popped up n said fix compatability issue, I hit cancel n it went into my basket @ €368...

Upgraded to Vista prem as basic is a bit of a waste...

    Get a pci wireless card.
And then depending on mood get a tv tuner and decent pci-x grafix.
Oh and the no mouse thing simply didn't work at all for me when trying to purchase it, so i decided to get the nice wireless set - good reviews and realistically I need a wireless set

On reflection could prob have left out speakers and got my own, but overall looks good.

home premium is worth the extra 30 euros or so! especially if you intend to use it for movies etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,830 ✭✭✭unklerosco

I intend to use it as a htpc... will prob sell the monitor. €30 for prem was worth it if only for Media center...

You can't remove the mouse without selecting the wireless keyboard/mouse bundle. Your order will go through but will be put on hold until a rep phones you to rectify the problem. Some searching questions may be asked during the phone call about you EEP status.:D

Edit: Tried to order 5 just now and they won't add to basket. Also tried it with 1, same problem.

Just tried myself, and won't add to my basket either.

Seriously sweet deal you got there, considering the 22" is worth more then half the cost easily. :)
