if half those spoilers are true season4 will be rubbish!!
sounds like the show is really going to go down hill, hope the writers don't think they can bluff it until 2010. if they kill off the people mentioned and jack becomes leader of the others and sawyer the leader of the losties is it just going to be a lord of the flys/battle royale type story for 3 more seasons?
surely the story cannot go forward without ben, he's the most interesting to happen on lost since the plane crashed!!
if kate went i'd miss her.

I agree that Ben is needed in the show. I can’t see him leaving to be honest because a lot of what the Island is, has to be explained by Ben himself. I can see Ben being in LOST for a long time yet, which is great for the show.

"Friend" from The 'lage who posted all those spoilers CaptainNegative quoted earlier is now claiming that Jacob is....wait for it...
Richard Alpert, who's actually been manipulating Ben all along
. Take this as you may but I think it's rubbish, foiler planted by the writers. We'll find out tonight I guess. If as I suspect this proves to be fake then that means all the Kate/Sayid/Charlie rumours are rubbish too, as DarkUFO based those speculative-deaths on this "Friend" character.

Sounds like rubbish to me also and the stuff about Kate/Charlie/Sayid is most likely rubbish too.

I think we can now safely confirm now that "Friend" was full of s**t. He was totally wrong about Ben's flashback.

    Aye nowhere close to it.

I'm not sure about the Richard/Jacob connection being shít. I think there's something to it, definitely. Richard found young Ben, essentially groomed him, must have told him to kill his father and provided him with what he needed. He was also the one who really encouraged Locke to finish off his father, one way or the other. He was responsible for bringing at least Juliette to the Island, not to mention probably being the one who arranged for her husband to die.

Also, when Locke said at the start of TMBTC "Maybe I'll ask Richard to bring me to Jacob" (or whatever), Ben really sharply replied "Richard? Why would Richard know to where to find Jacob?"

It's possible, Faith, but I doubt it. According to Darlton, Jacob is like the Emperor in Star Wars and won't be revealed till close to the end. Richard while clearly very important may not live that long :D

This Friend character also claimed that Richard was a Dharma workman like Ben, which he clearly wasn't so I think we can safely dismiss his whole theory as foiler.

On the subject of who's going to die, here's a snippet from a recent interview:
So you're not going to tell me who dies.

Cuse: Well, at least five people die.

Lindelof: But, you know, not like five major, major characters. But a couple of major characters.

Cuse: I think probably if you're a close viewer of the show you could name all five people.

Kate's not going to die, no way, never. Evangeline was interviewed on a U.S. talk show last night and she spent the whole interview raving about how brilliant the show is and what a great twist the finale has. If that twist was her getting killed I don't think she'd be so excited.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

Ok this isn't a spoiler, just my theories as a close viewer of the show as to who might die. I'm gonna guess that Cooper wasn't included in that five either.

So I'm gonna go with Sayid, Bernard, Rose, Richard and Naomi.
I'm probably completely off, but I'll go with it anyway.

I would imagine Richard is the 2nd in command of the The Others/Hostiles, after Jacob.

Ben was acting as Jacobs "voice on Earth" as it were, which gave him power but not really leadership. They follow Ben only because he speaks for Jacob (who is dead?). He clearly feels threatened by Richard, maybe he is worried that if the others don't think they need him he will be killed. Or maybe the Others are starting to be skeptical of Ben's connection with Jacob. Ben has reason to keep Locke away from Richard and to shoot Locke if Locke can communicate with Jacob as well. Ben doesn't want Locke to replace him, which might be the twist at the end of this season.

DarkUFO is now reporting that 3 of the deaths will be
Charlie, Tom and Ryan (the security-type Other who barged in on Jack and Kate in Otherville)
    .

He is also reporting that the other two deaths are
both female and should be revealed shortly
    .

    This would mean that
Sayid is safe for another year
    .

I thought Anthony Cooper was one of the deaths? That's what Ausiello said!

I thought so too but in the Zap2It interview which was done after The Brig the writers seemed to suggest otherwise:
So you're not going to tell me who dies.

Cuse: Well, at least five people die.

Lindelof: But, you know, not like five major, major characters. But a couple of major characters.

    I heard that
    Tom
had been confirmed for season 4. If this is true, then we have another false source and we're back to square one. Anyway, in the interview, Cuse and Lindelof claimed that it would be obvious for avid fans who the 5 deaths would be. How is
    Ryan
    obvious?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,719 ✭✭✭✭Sad Professor

They didn't exactly say they would be obvious, I think what they meant was they are characters we already know, i.e. not new characters. Though I still think some redshirts may be included in the 5.

DarkUFO's spoilers are almost always true, I can't remember the last time he got something wrong. He's very careful differentiating between rumours and confirmed spoilers so it looks like this list is legit.

Ausiello also said one side gets hit harder than the other.
Two female deaths means it has to be two of the following:

Kate (safe, despite rumours, recent talk show appearance confirms it)
Juliet (safe, podcast comments strongly suggest she'll have future flashbacks)
Sun (safe, she just bought a house in Hawaii, writers promised she won't die yet)
Rousseau (safe, getting a flashback next season)
Naomi (?? but word is she'll be back next season)
Claire (possible but unlikely without a proper send off)
    Alex (strong contender imo)
    Penny
Rose (I'm not so sure but Gregg Nations seemed to suggest she's safe too)
    Bonnie
    Greta

These are confirmed characters from the finale press release. The last two are new (probably minor characters) who we'll meet next week.

It's possible one or both of the deaths are in a flashback

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 30,661 Mod ✭✭✭✭Faith

In a flashback?! How would that work?

I'm happy for any of the characters spoilered above to die really. I'm more a fan of the men than the women. As long as Sawyer and Ben stay alive, I'll be happy. I'd like Juliet to live too, if I could choose. Claire's completely useless afaic, so she can go.

No way, Claire is the most important character on the show, we just haven't realised it yet. If it's Claire, I'll stop watching. I draw the line at Claire or Sawyer dying. Everybody else is fair game, but those two should always be in the show.
I retract my earlier statement about DarkUFO being wrong. I visit his site every week and he is usually always right. I'll miss Tom, he was the best.

Well I was thinking a flashback character might die, for example perhaps one of Charlie's parents (who both appear in his fb next week) died when he was young, or else someone in Jack's finale flashback. But it seems unlikely given Cuse's comment that the 5 deaths will be people we already know.

And I was thinking Claire might die as well but I can't see them giving Charlie a big emotional send off while Claire just gets shot in the head with no flashback or nothing. She's an original season 1 cast member, they wouldn't do that to her. I agree with CaptainNegative that she will probably play an important future role in the story.

Anyway I reckon the other two deaths will be minor characters.

Charlie, Tom, Pryce, Naomi and Mikhail die in the finale.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

The following rumours for the Episode 322 FINALE
    "THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS"
are completely legit. These spoilers were posted in the same article as the spoilers for 'Grestest Hits' which were 100% accurate.
    These however are only some of the spoilers for the finale. According to the sources who supplied these spoilers, there is another huge twist in the finale that will stun everyone, but he is unwilling to give away this secret, so here's just some of what we have to look forward to;
First, the deaths. A bunch of Others get killed when they try to raid the camp. This includes Friendly, who Sawyer shoots in cold blood -- and also Ryan who gets run over by Hurley in the van.

And Charlie FINALLY dies. He unblocks the jamming signal in the underwater station but drowns when Mikhail uses a grenade to blow it up, killing them both. It's a cool death for Charlie.

Another big moment is when an old favorite of the show returns. Locke is just about to kill himself in the Dharma grave pit that he fell into after Ben shot him when he hears a voice telling him not to. He looks up to see...WALT!! Walt helps him out of the pit and then disappears. No sign of Michael, and there's no explanation about where Walt has been or what happened to him or Michael.

Locke then makes it to the Radio Tower -- and gets there in time to kill Naomi just before she makes the rescue call. He throws a knife straight into her back. Jack can't understand what Locke is doing and tells him that he'll have to shoot him to stop him from making the call himself. Locke threatens to kill Jack, but then backs down.

Jack makes the rescue call -- and someone on the other end answers. The story on the island ends with help on the way. Or maybe not. Ben has told Jack that Naomi and her people aren't who they say they are -- and just before he dies, Charlie sees a transmission in the underwater hatch from Desmond's Penny -- who, contrary to what Naomi has said, denies that she knows Naomi at all!!

But the HUGE TWIST (remember there's an even bigger one, according to sources) of the episode -- in fact, probably the huge twist of the entire series -- happens in the flashback. They start by showing that Jack is totally ****ed up. He's popping pills and suicidal. The first flashback shows him about to kill himself by jumping off a bridge -- only a car accident nearby causes him to stop, and instead of killing himself he fins himself helping the accident victims.

But he keeps spiraling. He sees his ex-wife at the hospital -- she's pregnant with another man's child. He goes to a funeral of a person that we never discover, but whoever it is, his (or her) death rocks Jack hard. He steals drugs from the hospital and is caught by the new doctor in charge.

And all the time, he's constantly on the phone desperately trying to contact somebody. And the last scene shows us who...he goes to meet the mystery person, and it's the last person on earth we would think...it's KATE!

And it's now that we realize that for the first time in Lost history, we haven't been watching a flashback. We've been watching a FLASH-FORWARD!

Yep, that's right. THEY ACTUALLY SHOW THAT JACK AND KATE MAKE IT OFF THE ISLAND. For some reason, this has been the cause of Jack's spiral. He tells Kate they have to go back to the island. She refuses and drives away. The show finishes with Jack screaming "We have to go back!!"

Thats one huge spoiler, but i have already read it and i am not sure if it is fully true. Possibly parts of it are but not all of it.

Well the producers wanted Harold Perrineau to come back as Michael, but he didn't want to, so I guess they decided they had to bring Walt back instead. Obviously they want to wrap up that storyline somehow.

Yes but i am still unsure how they would approach that storyline again. They may not go into again at all.
