What's your BEST back packing story?

It has occured to me that Pighead only has a problem with people who can't afford hotels. Perhaps, he should start a thread about how much money he earns and all the backpackers can cry into their oolong tea.

It has also occured to me that the only people who talk about themselves in the third person are, sentient bombs that have gone mad, Bob Dole, and the sex-case midget pervert from the preacher comics. That's some pretty fine company to be casting judgement on the poor froom. Fine work fella. Damn fine work.

I was goin around Japan with me sis, and rememberd I needed a present for one of my friends, so bought her a fancy box of them pixie stick yokes [fizz straws]

so that night i had a sugar cravin, so decided to eat the fizz and get more the next day. so i opened one, and it tasted weird, so i threw it away and got another one, that also tastes blad


turns it out it was tubes of sugar, and it eve said Teatime friends on the box!

I cant stand much from backpackers anymore. Mostly because none of them are. And I have never been one. Just around people who think they are a lot.

There are shampackers. That is to say Champagne backpackers. Wearing backpacker uniforms (everyone knows the look) staying in 5 star hotels, haggling by paying 10 percent less than the going foreigner price, then bragging about it to daddy when he queries the bills on his credit card.

Then there are the people who sit around complaining about how hard their trip is, how the room has even more cockroaches than others and how they payed $3 as opposed to his mates $4.
Then they sit around milking their warm beer that they bought for 10 cents less than you saying you havent seen "real" X because you didnt walk the extra 100m up the dusty path to the next tourist trap temple.

But people who accept they are just tourists are fine. Trying to be a crusty backpacker ruins their trips. If they just shortened their stay and spent more they would have something really nice and memorable. They have way more fun.

Thats what Pighead likes about Giblet. He's tough yet fair at the same time. Takes no crap from anybody. Fantastic bit of moderating there buddy.
