To all who shower less than once a day: could you explain why I should have to smell your stink on the bus/in work/anywhere just because of your laziness?

    Lazy feckers

Ah the perks of living in a crowded city...
I have to listen to peoples shítty screaming kids, neglected barking dogs, rumbling jets, car alarms, boy-racer knobs with stupid loud exhausts.
Then I have to inhale asshole car exhaust everywhere because people are too lazy to walk or cycle.
Step over dog turds on the path because people won't clean up after their dogs.
See crisp packets, beer cans, broken bottles thrown about the place because people are too stupid/selfish to use a bin or plan ahead.
Maybe you're just on the cusp of a realization... that people suck and life is shít?

You may not think you smell but you may become accustomed to your own
body oder and think your o.k. when, in fact, you could be stinking to high
    heaven.

A person where i work smells awful and this person works in an office.
I hate it when i have to go in there.
No one says anything, so this person probably thinks theres nothing wrong.

No one is going to tell you you stink. It would be a major insult.

There used to be two sales assistants who worked for our company at differing times and they had horrendous BO. It got so bad they were called over to head office and asked to do something about it!

I'll put it like this (as a male).

If I were in a "shirt and tie" position (which includes office work-casual dress code or no), then with a daily shave being a necessity, a shower would follow suit.

Thankfully, I'm not, so generally shave/shower each day of the weekend, and Monday to Friday as necessary (meeting customers/giving briefings the following day etc.)

The average, on contemplation, is about four a week, but your money may vary.

As regards the scent of a woman (as someone alluded to in the PI thread re: Napoleon & Josephine), that's a whole different ballgame.

I cant actually belive some people think its OK not to shower everyday.

Whether you like it or not you sweat every day, even in winter when its not hot, even if your not doing any pyhsical activity.

Your body also has dead skin which needs to be washed away.

I work with a guy who openly admits he only showers every 2 days and he focken stinks of BO at 8.30am in the morning

. . and to the poster who says he doesnt have enough clean boxers to wash them everyday. . . For focks sake - for the price of a pint or 2 you could easily buy some more boxers

    Twice a week
i'd usually have 4 or 5 showers a week. though it depends, if the weather is really hot, or i'm back home on the farm with my father i could find myself taking 2 a day. i believe that the more showers teh better, but sometimes people can be obsessive about this topic

I have a shower every morning to wake me up. If I miss it, say if I'm sick or having a lazy day I feel really groggy for the whole day.

It's like a cup of coffee for me.

I would also have a shower after swimming to get the chlorine or salt out of my hair or if it were a particularly hot day and I feel sticky, a nice blast of cool water feels wonderful.

2 minutes in there but my long hair takes about 2.5 hours to dry naturally damn it! Blokes have it easy. I hate going out with very wet hair when its cold. And no, blow drying damages it!

Every second day for me (except in summer, when its way too hot)

I shower most nights, yes, at night.
When my gf is around I shower more, and in the morning.

Once a day but I shower at night. I'm way too lazy to get up 5 minutes earlier to do it in the morning.

Not everyone needs a shower everyday so people just get over it. I used to know a guy who could go out dancing all night in the same clothes four nights in a row, not shower and still not smell. I would not want to have to get up close and personal with him but I didn't have to so it didn't create a problem.
Some people have sweat/body odour problems and others don't so just deal with it.
Also, just because *you* don't think you smell doesn't mean you don't smell. Body odour works the same way as people who overload themselves with perfume stop smelling the perfume on their skin/clothes after awhile and spray more so they can smell it again while the people around them almost pass out from the noxious fumes.
Another newsflash is that you don't have to use soap every day to be clean. Skin, like hair, will get used to not being washed every day if you let it. Again this does not work for people who have body odour problems.

    Once a day
More than once a day - once in the morning to wake myself up, then later as required depending on training/ activity/ humidity etc.

I find myself showering out of boredom sometimes, especially on weekends in winter. It's also great to do during blocks of study periods.

Internet people don't shower, or leave their custom gaming chairs.

Pretty much identical for me. I tend to shower in the evening as this means I can let my hair dry naturally. There's no way that I'd have the time or the inclination to blow dry it in the morning. And I work in professional services. Wet hair in the morning would just not be on.

I tend to shower as and when needed, but never past 2 days. So sometimes, every two days, sometimes twice a day. Put quite simply, I shower as and when I need it.

Usually every day, but sometimes twice a day or every second day. In the summer it would be usually twice a day

Every day without fail. Twice a day or do physical activity. I wouldn't walk out the door without showering. It's all in my head, I know.

when necessary! if you feel it necessary to shower once a day, thats fair enough, but it's not like you'd smell real bad if you showered once every two days

I really don't know if you are getting very clean if you are in and out in 2 minutes....

reminds me of when you are a kid and you run your finger across everyline of every page of a book rambling a few incoherent words that you see and then claim to of read the book, in 2 minutes.

I have a friend who has these 'express showers', you are trying to get him out the door and he insists on have a rapid shower, in and out and dressed within about 60 seconds, it's very pointless,
he is just getting wet, not clean.

Nah you could possibly be clean in two minutes of showering, maybe a small bit longer.
That's presuming you're not washing your hair as well of course, in which case, about... 5 minutes.

Actually the towel will lift off most of the dirt. You could literally splash yourself wet, scrub dry and be fairly damn clean. Means the towel will need to be changed more though :)

    Every two days
I shower every day, but I pee in it every day too to counteract the notion that I'm an over obsessive hygene freak.

I don't understand people here who seem to think showering is a chore, showers are so nice. All that hot water.... mmm.... I usually get up, get into the shower, pretty much fall asleep under the hot water for like 10 mins and then realise I should really hurry up and I proceed to wash myself.
