I don't want LOST turning into a soppy soap type show. :)

Lost is no where near soap opera yet. If you want to see soap opera watch BSG, half the season was dedicated to Apollo and Starbuck and their respective marriage problems. And when it's not them it's Helo and his cylon wife and cylon baby who he loves, blah blah blah. I like Galactica but christ...sometimes I want to kill the writers.

The media over-hype the whole Jack-Kate-Sawyer-triangle in Lost. It takes up a relatively small amount of screen time imo.

Agreed mate, LOST still has a lot going for it, which is why so many people still love it and watch it week in week out.

There are a few reasons for them heading back to the losties camp.

The main reason, is no matter how much we know it, the people still have hope of being rescued by a passing ship or boat or plane. The losties have a far better chance of been seen if they stay by the shore line. If they were to move inland then they would most likely never be found.

They could leave someone on watch at the beach area, someone like desmond.
    logik wrote:
Another reason is fear and security. We know that by moving inland the losties would gain much, they would have running water, showers, beds, houses, electricity. However, they may fear the Others will return to the camp, after all we do not know if the Others are gone for good, or just temporarily..

They have do have guns and "sayid" and would be better prepared for them this time, they would have the upper hand if the others were to come back.
They are not as powerful as we once thought.

    logik wrote:
There is also the fear of being watched by the Others, via the camera system. ..

They are being watched at the beach anyway.

    logik wrote:
The losties do not know the layout of the Others camp, there my be tunnels underground giving the Others easy access to pick off the people they still want or are on their “list”. They could get away with taking Claire’s baby easier for example..
If there was anyone else on their list i'd say they would have tried to get them by now, even claires baby.
If they wanted to try to get erin/aran/erinn/arann (WTF is her name?) again after the first time, it wouldnt have been to difficult to try again at the beach. I dont think they were too bothered.
    logik wrote:
Then there is the smoke, not a lot of people in the losties camp have seen or heard the smoke. Only a select few have, and it has scared them. The voices heard in the jungle would also freak the losties out. So they feel safe where they are and have managed to live their for 3 months now with no major problems.

They would see no reason to risk it all now.

We dont know that the rest of the losties have'nt been to explore inland a bit (although they probably haven't) and have seen the black smoke. I doubt if they have all stayed put on the beach area. If I was there I would have explored a bit. They have been there for 3 months. Anyway jack "the leader" is back now so he can reassure them all that their is nothing to worry about.

I still find it very weird that they didnt stay in the village!

Oops! I meant to say Jack and Kate hook up! :D Would you still vote me as writer! ?! Well if I was I probably would add an aul lesbian storyline to keep the guys interested in Lost!

As for moving into the Others camp...Sayid and Kate and Jack aren't just going to stay there themselves - they're going to go back to the beach first. Who knows, they might move into the houses, they would benefit but as logik has said, the Others could come back..

Yeah or worse, Locke could come back. Picture the scene:

    EXT. THE BARRACKS/OTHERVILLE - DAY

The Losties are coming out of the jungle, tired from their long journey. They stand for a moment looking at the houses.

    HURLEY
    Ah our new home, dudes!

    CHARLIE
I know I can't wait to have a shower. Hey, is that Locke over there?

    HURLEY
    Where, dude?

    CHARLIE
Over there, coming out of that house. Why is he running?

    SAYID
    Oh no—

    BOOOM! Otherville blows up!

    LOCKE
    (shrugs)
Sorry guys but the island told me to do it.

    Her name? Aaron's a dude!

I reckon that could be why Juliet has been left behind. To try and get to Claire's baby. They were bothered enough to take the other kids so I don't see why they would disregard Aaron.

Yes because there are other people still on the Others list also. Remember when Mikhail was captured, he said to Locke "too angry", Kate "too much fear" and Sayid "Too Scared" or something along those lines. This indicatied that the Others will only take the people on the list when they are ready and have let go of the problems they carry with them.

That image is fake, BUT (again referring back to my 3 smoke-monsters theory) there is one of them can fly, the small-smoke/hurley bird... but it has appeared to be fairly harmless.
The image isn't fake. I still have the episode which originally aired in the U.S. and the swooping black entity is clearly visible. I'll post some screen captures when I get a chance.

Oh, I'm not disputing that there was, I've seen it myself. BUT! It was nowhere near as clear as that, that is a doctored image.

If you watch the scene, and the bits before and after, you'll see theres bits of black stuff zipping around everywhere, added in randomly to be like bits of ash and stuff, which is what that was, its just coincidental that it was like that with the engine, as the writers said.

So what, the writers are pointing at the smoke being the sole cause of the crash in the first place?
