I thought we were told that Ford copied the con that was used on his mother and that was also why he took the name Sawyer. I think it was in some background episode of his back in season one

Cheers, i don't seem to remember that at all. I think i will have to rewatch it then :)

Well it might have come out in pieces in different episodes, like an exchange with kate here and with Locke there kind of thing. Im going to have to re-watch the seasons myself as Ive only seen every episode once and things are getting rusty :D

The police refered to him as his dad, and his mother, thats pretty hard evidence thats he is his real dad,
as opposed to a foster or pretend dad

But presumably he had told them what happened, referring to him as his "Dad". They've probably no way of checking up on it even if they wanted to.

Ben calling him his dad means nothing, could just be manipulating him again.

And on the Locke being wet thing: I'd imagine even a fairly small sub exploding nearby would generate quite a lot of splashing? So even if he was dry when he got back on the dock, the explosion would have drenched him?

Wasnt he nearly beside the others (already wet) just as the sub/decoy was exploding?
Im going with the excellent theory that he didnt blow the sub up? Its much more exciting!;)

I don't know mate. I think he did blow up the sub. I mean the Others would have looked for the sub the next day during daylight and also John cannot pilot a sub. I think he found something in the sub, put it in his bag and then hid his bag either in the water or by the waters edge.

Good episode, i gave it an 8, allthough I hope this 'box' is a metaphor
.. it seems an easy way to just explain everything..

What is the black smoke ? .. From THE BOX...
What was the hatch for ? ... THE BOX..
where did the other come from .. THE BOX..

Its like using "it was all a dream" of getting out of a
hole the writers have dug themselves into.
I hope it doesn't exist, I hope t'others just kidnapped Cooper...

The creators have said it is only a metaphor, that there being a magic box at the centre of the island would be the stupidest thing imaginable. (Or something to that effect)
