Brillient.. I knew their was something funny about that guy.. he was in Ardkeen in Waterford last Tuesday at about 12:30. I was walking over to my car and he called me over.. wanted to sell me three Armani jackets for 200.
Claimed he worked for "italian fashion" in Dublin. Drove a Silver Peugeot 207, Registration: <snip>. I was tempted to ring the guards but I didnt. Probably should have.. but who knows.. probably should have taken a picture of his reg plate. But let this information be of some use.

There have got to be easier ways to make money. I don't understand, can it really be the same guy doing this all around the country:confused: He should have a nickname at least. Something like 'armani-bandit'.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me not a week ago. Sounds like it was the same fella too.

Was walking down dawson street towards stephen's green around 10:30 one morning with heaphones in. I hear this knocking and see some guy in his car (black jeep possibly?) has pulled over and is tapping on the window. I wander over seeing as i'm in no rush, he asks me am i italian, i say no, and he says i look it (ha! pasty kerryman in reality).

He launches into his spiel about being a tailor for Brown Thomas, on his way home to Italy with free Armani samples they gave him, except he doesnt want to pay the extra baggage fee so 'maybe it is an opportunity for you'.

I'm far too cynical to fall for that to be honest.

Yeah same guy tried to use the same story on me in Airside Retail park in swords before christmas. I wonder will they ever get thier cumuppance?

Tanned, 30s, short black hair, wore a suit with (I think) a purple tie, drove the aforementioned '06 Silver Peugeot 207 with dublin plates (*noticed the details snipped from my earlier post* details available on request).

There was an Italian guy doing this same jacket scam in Newbridge two years ago.

Ah I don't know about that. I regularly buy things from strange men in cars that call me over in carparks.

Jackets, pants, shoes, medicines, sometimes my weekly shopping.

Great service these lads offer too!

I'd say the same fool approached me a few weeks back in Castleisland. He was driving a 05 D blue Ford Focus.
