I can see the funny side to the issue, I am 22 and my bro is 19, we both have gf's and have our rooms beside each other, but being honest it really isnt on, i would immediately let him know that i wasnt impressed, and he would stop. Dont say anyything to your parents or his girlfriend, it could be awkward for everyone involved especially the girl friend, tell your bro that its not on, i highly doubt it will continue...

A few years ago, i was sharing a house with some friends and their bed was against the dividing wall between my bedroom and theirs, and all you could hear at night was the headboard banging off the wall so one night when they said they were off to bed, i said hang on a minute, walked into their room and pulled the bed away from the wall, and walked back out. I can still see their embarrassed faces now-)
    now!

you should have posted her surname, using the spoiler tags would have concealed her identity

Just play loud music and let them at it, like what tman did when I was rocking his sisters headboard.

The same thing happened to me on Wednesday night. My flatmate brought home some guy and here bedroom is just above mine. Normally I can hear alot from her room anyway, so I could hear almost everything when it started. It didn't help that she has the squeekist (sp?) bed.
I just started to listen to music on headphones and could only hear for a second or 2 in between songs.

Once it doesn't happen all the time I don't mind that much. If it was me doing it, I wouldn't care about the noise. Hell, I once kicked a roommate out of his bed so I could have the room for myself and a girl.

This happens to me every Sunday night with one of the three girls I live with. Her boyfriend drops her back every sunday night and he stays. Both our beds are against the dividing wall between my bedroom and hers. I just put earphones on, music up load and try to get to sleep as fast as I can.

I was in next door drinking with more friends of mine drinking last wednesday..we all bit drunk and we talking about Emily and her boyfriend. Emily had gone back to Cork as she subbing the wed, thur and fri..but she came back down to Limerick the wed nyt..and it wasnt to go out with us..her boyfriend with her. So anyway the girls asking why would ya come back down?!! as it doesnt make sense! Then I was like..well u'd know what they're up to if you could hear them every sunday friggin nyt and then having to get up for a 9 lecture and being in till 5 straight!

We got home that nyt..I was still drunk..so i decided i get my own back for all the sleepless sunday nyts i gottn..we were all in the tv room which is next to Emilys..I just started banging and banging on the walls..was so funny..ud have to have been deaf not to wake up like..they didnt come out tho..i kept banging and banging..i even put a hole in the wall,whoops!!..duno how il explain that to emily as i hvnt seen her yet..:D

Knock on the door and offer them a cup of tea. Ask them if they are thirsty after all that exertion. :D

OP: Whatever you do, don't go blaring *good* music in an attempt to stop them, as someones flatmate found out last night, it'll have quite the opposite effect.

Tbh I'd say just let them at it (and stop being so jealous), just throw on some headphones and read a book or something.

Mores be to the point, if he's old enough to be bringing girls home to Mammy's house then he's old enough to get a place of its own. Friggen spoiled youth of today :p (Me having just got my replacement hip and all...) I wouldn't have done it for one of two reasons: One, because of the looks I'd get. Nothing would be said, but it'd be that "look" followed by a swift move to get me out of the house.

Or, my old man would swing a punch at me. Of course he's not as young as he used to be (then and now, funnily enough); but he'd still put me on my arse, and the next day I'd have been packing my bags.

Seriously, what's on that people think they have the God Given Right to bring birds home, to the house of their family, and be as quiet or loud as they like? Pretty nice parents...

Fast_Mover, interesting as your story was, I found it very hard to read.
Please refrain from the txt spk. qwerty keyboard and all that.

Well, its one thing to be bringing girls home, but the fact that hes bringing them home and sleeping with them knowing full well his parents can hear him at it clear as day next door is erm...a bit odd tbh.

I think it's hilarious though, I once mentioned to someone about how loud they used to be with partner x... they were surprised, mortified and had absolutely no idea they could be heard... f*ck sake I'm sure people out on the street walking past the house could hear them.
So, walking home at midnight the other day, I could have sworn I heard the neighbours at it. One wouldn't mind, but they were probably on the second floor, the front garden is 10m long and the windows seemed shut. Talk about a moaner .... :D

Play some loud music with a nice steady rythmn, that they can move to, when the sounds next door are in tune to the beat, that's when you start to slowly speed it up slow.

Anyone know an mp3 player that allows you to speed up the playback ?

Try Guns n Roses, first song was "Sweet Child of Mine"...if anything, it set the pace :D

I think the iriver h320 does with the newer firmware, so should be suited to testing the theory.

Playing some Brendan Grace or maybe Pat Kenny might also act as a turn off

Tbh, if you want to turn someone off, just play AIDS/HIV ads over and over and that should do the trick :D

Actually, you could play that AIDS song from Team America. It'd make them think wtf while you sit back laughing at the song.
