I met him once in Liffy Valley. We were doing a trade. I had seen him around a few times since then.

So very very sorry for your loss. I loved reading Barry's posts, full of wonderful and useful information, I'll miss his passion.

I've borrowed this from the post by jules80 because it's more eloquent than anything I could say.

Life is eternal, and love is immortal,
    and death is only a horizon;
and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.

This is the first death on boards that has shocked me. I liked him and his attitude. I particularily remember smiling when I read the last post of his that I saw.
    RIP.

I've only ever read his posts - and god knows what mad impression my mind created of the man from his words here (and images of Tim Curry 'cos of the username. )

I was shocked when I saw the news posted elsewhere by damien.m (appreciated)

I don't know if people go to a "better" place, maybe an easier more gentle one- some sure have their battles in this world. but a better place than being with some one you love, and are loved by ? I would hope instead all the people we lose just go to prepare a better place for the re-union, being less physically present in our lives, but never gone away. Continuing to care, to hurt with our hurt, and eventually smile when we return to experience the we normalities of this life.

The net is good at least in so much that It was nice to have the opportunity to have some glimpse of this other person.

I hope the grief never overwhelms the memories, and that the memories remain vital and energised in the times ahead
    :(

I was actually in the middle of typing a reply to one of his posts in the Accessibility & Mobility & Disability forum when I happened to click the link to blog and read about his sudden passing. Shocking and sad news.

I never met him and had only recently been chatting to him here, but I was aware of his posts for a long time and they were always of interest. He will certainly be missed here.

Noah, I'm so sorry about your heartbreaking and awfully sudden loss. I only knew of Barry through his posts here, but, having learned about his experiences, he was a Boards member who stood out in my mind - inspirational isn't the word. I particularly remember one excellent, impassioned post of his on the LGBT forum. And of course, me being a cat lover, well, I was heartened by his love of cats and all other animals.
I really hope you find the strength to keep going during this devastating time. Of course it's not something one can get over fully, but may the pain ease with the passing of time and you'll come to terms with it as best you can.

    In memory...for both of you:

    The clock on the wall
    Has just told you
    Your hour has come
And you know those that God loves
    Die young

    But remember
    There is never forever
    Only the moment
    There is never forever
    Only the moment

    You're thinking too much about
Who will think badly of you
    You throw away chances
    Let love pass you by

    But remember
    There is never forever
    Only the moment
    There is never forever
    Only the moment

    Don't be afraid
Of the dark of the night
    Just reach for your feelings
    Let your mood tell you
    You're making the right move
    The days fade away
    And before you can say
I wish I'd made all the right moves
    It's too late

    With guilt on your shoulder
    And fear in your heart
    You're bedevilled by angels
    Belittled by fools

    But remember
    There is never forever
    Only the moment
    There is never forever
    Only the moment

frankenfurter ... its a bit mental. Woody and myself (im only recently back on) i am pcwares for those who remember ed into this fellow a few times. I never saw him as woody always did the trading.I know he will be shocked. I just texted him. But the olde skool boards like me and woody know boards for what it was and what is could be and frankenfurter was somebody who reached out and recieved. I visited noahs site and i never visit photo art things. The lad gave his personality as positive with meaning

As a raw new plough gouges the earth untravelled. And my brow is heavily furrowed, the spade running deep and thick. Its spring. His spirit sings praise for the chorus, lofting him on high. Numbers. Numbers who were drawn to him. They carefully recoil and unfold upon this board. This board becomes an anvil on which destiny is carved under the nothing which softens, which softens... which softens nothing. Nothing at all.

He will be remembered by pcwares and ..i will leave this he other fella say his piece.. woody.
