Worst episode so far IMO. Far too little happened. Kate's backstory only told us what we already knew. Echo still dead. It'll be slightly interesting to find where john and sayid went first, and what the scripture means, but otherwise fairly crap.
Jack's double cross was always coming, nice of him to screw over Juliet though. The whole love triangle, again is getting old. At least we know the complete truth now. Dissapointing over all. Especially having heard that this was meant to be the best episode ever.

I enjoyed this eppy. Thought twas cool how Ben managed to crack Jack in the end. Yet Jack fooled all of them, for a change. He better not kill Ben though.

I also hate watching scenes were it looks like someone's gonna die, yet, you know right well there's no chance of it happening. Was still pretty intense though.

    Gave it an 8.

Not the best of the series, that was episode 5, but it was still very enjoyable...
I normally would agree, but I genuinely thought they would kill sawyer. Was only after they didnt kill sawyer that I realised, hey, they'd never kill him!

Actually thought they might kill him too.. just annoyed me in the end when they didn't though. The guy had about ten minutes to pull that trigger.

Also, I'm sure I just missed something, but why is the guy with the gun so pissed off with Sawyer? I take it there's a reason, but compared to the last few episodes it seemed to have been blown out of all proportion for this week alone.

I take it Sawyer killed his wife or something? When was that?

    Nah.. Sun shot his wife!

Think Sawyer was eyeing her up at one stage though.. and Pickett just seems to have a very short temper.

Oh right, so I didn't miss anything.. and it was just another convenient plot device :-/

I voted a seven for this episode, although I think I was overly generous with that. Should have been a 5.

I've got a real love/hate relationship with this show :(

I don't think everything is over regarding the love triangle. I know that Kate is aware that she's on an island and can't go far, but she when she was saying that she couldn't leave, it almost sounded as if she couldn't leave without Jack. I reckon that if it was Jack in the cage then she would have had dirty, sweaty, wet but clean shaven sex with him instead.

Another thing that occured to me was how willing Sawyer was to just let himself die. At this point, they've only been on the island for about 3 months? And in this time they have set up an efficent camp on the island and they are certainly in shape to be there for when the emergency services get there. Yet all of a sudden he's lost his will to live after a few days with the "others".

I find it a little hard to believe, although I suppose I could be reading into it a bit too much. This is the show which has a plume of black smoke making groaning noises after all!

Aye. But who would have wanted to watch airpit hair sex? It would have had people reaching for the nearest paper bag!

let's clear this armpit hair thing up.

it's be what, 3/4 days since they have been captured right?

before that kate had access to the hatch where i'm sure she had access to a razor.

    Season 3 you mean?

It's all a possibility, but I still reckon it was a decision taken by the producers to ensure that the sex was in some way sexy. Or perhaps Kate didn't want to leave her armpits unkempt for a few weeks

I thought that it was excellent, first time giving anthing a 10. I must be in good form tonight.

The back story was quite good. She looked beautiful in her wedding dress and she really did love Kevin, but the fear made her leave.

The part at the end was very tense and emotional. That feeling of love, he would die for her, her for him. I presume she said "can't" to Jack instead of won't because they are on another island, not because she loves Jack.

By the way maybe they gave her a waxing kit with the dress, it was kind of see through.

Spoken like a man who's never shaved his armpits! It's like facial hair, if you shave in the morning, you'll have a shadow by the evening. The next day, there's regrowth. After 3 or 4 days, it's desperate. One really needs to shave. Unless they also provided her with a beautician on the first day who waxed Kate's armpits. Then there wouldn't be regrowth.

Hey, I don't mind the gaps, the slowness in answering questions, the weak episodes... I need something to complain about!

Talk about a disappointing episode. Especially after the brilliant episode last week. What did it tell us? Ziltch! The only 2 half interesting bits of the show was when Locke saw Eko's Jesus stick and the reference to Jacob.

And what a terrible cliffhanger. Was Danny ever going to shoot Sawyer? No! He's way too important to the show. Is Jack going to let Ben die? No! Same reason as Sawyer. Is Kate going to try to escape? No! Where does she go? As for the love triangle....... boooooooooooring. Kate is hot, there's no doubt about that but I'd much rather see her with Sawyer than whinging Jack.

6/10 (which is the worst I've ever given) :(

I rode a fat German chick once - her armpits were shaven - the French on the other hand....

I too, yet again, got Nathan Fillion confused for William Mapother... They do look similar if you're not concentrating...

    Enjoyed the episode

I think the worst things about American shows is that if a major character is going to be killed off then we know before it happens ... ie from magizines, showbiz shows etc so we knew there was no way that Sawyer was going to be killed and there is no way that Ben (i still call him Henry) is going either.
Ben made last season so good and loosing any of the big stars will only hinder Lost so dont think anyone is going anywhere

The only thing i can think of re Jack's mention to Kate about the conversation that they had on the day of the crash is about the fear and only let it in for when she is running away from the others and then just to get the fook out!
I'd say that when it is back on, it will open with Locke and co considering they opened the season about Jack and co.
Cant believe the break - pain in the gonades!

That's meant to be an incredible cliffhanger? For the one person who thought it was one of the best they've ever seen, I'd genuinely wonder if they've ever sat through tense cliffhangers like "Best of Both Worlds, Part 1" or the end of Alias S2 or Twin Peaks S1? Ones where your mouth is really left open..
I honestly thought my cousin's tape had run out early - there's been much more tense endings on a regular weekly installment...

As to the rest - it was decent but I thought last week's installment was far better. There was very little progress this week and we learnt nothing new.
The backstory was, once more, pointless and a waste of Fillion's talent. And I don't think they played the whole "Kate on the run" subtext well - it was far too heavy-handed and obvious. Subtlety would've been much nicer.

Would like to see more tension introduced in scenes next time - let's not threaten one of the biggest stars on the show, knowing they'll survive (especially after killing someone else the previous week). Let's go after some other element. If we constantly pretend we're going to let someone die, it becomes less interesting. Try a new plot device.

Disappointing way to sign out for three months given I thought the show was actually on a bit of an up. Would have left a better taste if we'd ended last week but disappointment is something I should really be more used to with this show.

Also, for the machine with the fish biscuits does it have another button to push so that rubber johnnies come out?

You could be on to something. The near pregnancy in the back story may be a lead up to her getting knocked up on the Island. Bred in captivity and all. go Sawyer!

Totally forgot bout the 13 week break until started readin here this morning. Gutted... Anyway I'm wonderin why jack made the incision in Ben's kidney. I hoped that he was going to cut the spinal cord or something like that after the tip from the hot blond with the video tape. I'd like to think that she was telling the truth...
obviously he is hopin that kate could run but surely they all would be better off if the leader of the opposite team was dead...
    your thoughts......

If he killed Ben, then Jack would have been killed instantly as would Sawyer and Kate. I'd like to think that she was telling the truth as well, but Jack wasn't willing to trust her and saw this as the only way that he could take matters into his own hands!

Jack is the only person who can save Ben now, so Jack thinks he has all the power. Of course, what Jack doesn't know is that they are being held on a seperate island which might just complicate matters a bit.

wasn't a big fan of this episode. it seemed to deviate from the usual Lost formula. too much action and not enough "what the...".

i also find it hard to believe that ben would let jack operate on him after such a short space of time. jack would hardly have turned to the dark side with such ease. or that he'd believe that jack would save his life if he'd release him.

one thing i don't understand though: how come the guys on the first island (where the plane crashed) didn't see the second island at all? it's pretty close.

Wrong side of the island I guess. I can't imagine why it wasn't spotted by Sayid and co., however, on their sail around the island.

I'm guessing they didn't do a full lap of the island, and the second one looks pretty small. My question, how did the others get over to the other island? Another boat? An underground/water passage?

Also when Sayid made there extremely fast trek back across the island after being stranded, why didn't they head to the big foot to check is out? Ah at least its only another 12 weeks to wait :(
