    A damn fine episode!

The action on the island(s) was excellent stuff..

The stuff on the "other" island was brillant from start to finish... nice to get a resolution to the Jack, Sawyer, Kate love triangle which i feel has definitely resolved itself now.

The flashback was decent too.. good to Nathan Fillion in something again and his "wanna get it on?" line at the start was quite a introduction! :D

The stuff with Locke, Sayid, Desmond and not forgetting "Dumb & Dumber" was a tad unnecessary apart from the scripture on Eko's jesus stick... "lift up your eyes and look north" - could this the direction of the "other" island?

Definitely the best episode of the season.. and it'll keep me going for the 13 week wait. But why do i get the sneaking suspicion Kate won't run?

    9 / 10

I was very underwhelmed by this episode!

I expected more from Locke's discovery of Eko's stick scripture. But again we will have to wait. Once more no sign of Sun, Jin or Claire (who must have been making a movie, we saw her so little this mini-season).

Alex was interesting; she called Danny Pickett her Daddy, and expressed concern for what had happened to Karl, further indicating that he wasn't a plant in Ep 1. Then Ben wanted to know had she asked for him - Why?

The backstory was rubbish, the worst I had seen in a long while. Kate is a fugitive; she uses a pseudonym. Like we hadn't seen all that before in the bank robbing story. And of course the honeymoon was with the only airline that exists in Lostworld.

The end of the ep came very suddenly; I wasn't expecting that to be the cliffhanger for 13 weeks. The bit about this storyline that most interested me was Pickett's comment that "Shepherd wasn't even on Jacob's list". Who exactly is Jacob - is he the boss of Ben? Now seeing a person like that would have been a cliffhanger to keep me going. But what we got was a bit meh.

i thought it was a good ep....didnt like the backstory...

wasnt expecting him to hold the others to ransom like that, thought when he made that final incison that he was going to help juliet...nice one go jack....13 weeks is gonna be ages away a damn shame!

    argh!!

    Solid ending...damn cliffhangers!

Enjoyable ep tho I thought it was down on last weeks. *shrug*

Oh I do enjoy the Sawyer/Kate interaction. :)
Shepard wasn't even on Jacobs list

So was Ben aware of a plot to kill him? His last words on the table made me think so.

Locke, Desmond, Sayid et al, waste of time but it being Lost, it'll prolly have major implications when it returns.

    Overall, 8/10

Personally I was very disappointed in it and it has been the worst episode of the season. I would have liked to have seen Sayid and John discuss the "monster" a bit more but instead they opted to show about 60 rotations around Sawyer and Kate and Jack asking for scalpals and clamps.

This isn't to say that it was a bad episode, it was however a very average one which could've been handled so much better especially the ending.

Another briliant ep....that was a very long con to get Jack to do the surgery... letting him out to view sawyer and Kate...
one of the best ciffhangers I have ever seen

    *ben is bleeding to death
*swayer has a gun at his head
*kate s crying saying she won't leave

The 'run kate run' concept of a woman hiding from herself by constantly being on the run has been played out superbly by the writers imo. Ben again has alluded to kates choice
'if I were a betting man...'
The others have a very complex masterplan for the Losties..or least perhaps Jabob eye patch man has.

Nathan Fillion gets drugged in another tv series.
    woooohhhhhhhoooooo :D
It was a pity there wasn't more of locke and sayid but ya cant have everything
I thought the ending was good even if it came very quick.
    now a stupid wait....

Good episode... i wonder will sawyer get out of this one, i really thought they were going to kill him.. Also what is Jack going to do.. he obviously doesn't know they are 'supposedly' on a different island, damn it Kate why didn't ya just tell him so..

Also Kates husband Kevin bears a very similar resemblance to Ethan Rom. I actually thought it was the same guy...

I enjoyed this eppy. Thought twas cool how Ben managed to crack Jack in the end. Yet Jack fooled all of them, for a change. He better not kill Ben though.

I also hate watching scenes were it looks like someone's gonna die, yet, you know right well there's no chance of it happening. Was still pretty intense though.

    Gave it an 8.

Not the best of the series, that was episode 5, but it was still very enjoyable...

Great episode gave it a 9/10

Loved the tension, and build up of the whole jack to operate on ben.
But a few things pissed me off - or maybe I'm jut stupid to work stuff out, so let me know :o

why was Jack allowed to exit his room, and get his hands on a weapon? So he could see kate/sawyer?

How the **** did kate manage to break the lock on sawyers cage in a matter of seconds, then they "get it on" and none of the others are any the wiser that all this stuff was happening, till "block head" decided when he was gonna kill sawyer?

Jack didn't need to do what he did, if Kate and James ran for it, instead of using there chance to escape, to get it on

Still great ep though, Kate is a very confused girl, she doesn't know were her head is at, and for a fair few seconds, I actually did think Sawyer was a goner

I thought we were supposed to get a decnt cliffhanger? That wasn't even tense. I know ben will survive, the guy is signed up as a regular for the season. Yes they have killed regulars off before, but not 6 episodes after they have become regulars.

Sawyer and Kate sleep together, meh, never really care about romantic relationships in shows too much. Flashbacks told us nothing new. We had too little of Locke and co.

The only interesting thing was the mention of a Jacob and Locke saying I hope we find out the answers soon, damn straight!

    5/10

I enjoyed it, but there was one thing that píssed me off majorly! When Saywer and Kate were getting it on, she had her arms up in the air, and Sawyer ran his hands down them. Both of them were covered in dirt, with gross hair and everything... yet Kate had perfectly shaven armpits. There wasn't even a shadow. Somehow I doubt the Others provide Kate alone with a razor, while neither Jack or Sawyer seem to have access to one.

Anyway. I was happy with Kate and Sawyer got together, but my heart broke when I saw Jack's reaction! I had my money on him too.

They had absolutely better not kill Ben. I will freak out completely if they do!

I too wonder how nobody saw K&S before the next morning.

I'm pretty sure the voice coming through the intercom in Jack's cell was Alex's, anyone else think so?

I'm damn annoyed that it's 13 weeks until the next episode, but it'll be SO worth it when we have a 17 week straight run!

That was a poor episode. They didnt develop anything properly. Don't care for the love triangle. They've played it to death over the previous 5 episodes, honestly!

Seems like a real mixed bags of opinions about the episode. I too fall under the "disapointed" camp. It was an exciting episode with some tense moments but in the end it came down to the cliffhanger which left me feeling as underwhelmed as the season 1 ending.

In my opinion, a really good cliffhanger should be when you have absolutely no idea what is going to happen next. I could hazard a few guesses to how it will play out - none of them particularly astonishing. Kate and Sawyer escape, they somehow get access to the boat or sub and leave the small island and Jack finishes the operation.
Or Kate and Sawyer try to escape, fail but Jack does the operation anyway for whatever reason.

I was really hoping for a "game-changing" twist - though apparently that's coming up in the middle of season 3.

I thought the scenes with Alex were great - seems like the "Alcatraz" island might be a prison camp (not just for Jack, Kate and Sawyer). Pickett asked her: "How did you get over here?". She must have left otheville and perhaps stowed away on the sub or sail boat. Is Ben her adopted father? It sounded like Alex's voice over the intercom when Jack was released from his cell.

And if Jacob just turns out to be Ethan's real surname??

13 weeks is a loooooong time.

I thought the same thing :D
I also wondered just how stinky they must smell
    ick.

I enjoyed the episode, but somehow I expected just a little more from a cliff hanger.

What was the story jack told kate on the beach as she was stitching him up -
    Can anyone remember?

I vaguely remember it being about a girl on an operating table and he made a wrong incision and something flowed out like "angel-hair pasta".. i remember the "angel-hair pasta" bit but vaguely remember the rest.. seems like so long about. Will dig up the exact story on the Net.

    .... a-ha, here we go:
JACK: Well, fear's sort of an odd thing. When I was in residency, my first solo procedure was a spinal surgery on a 16-year-old kid. A girl. And at the end, after thirteen hours, I was closing her up, and I -- I accidentally ripped her dural sac. Shredded the base of the spine where all the nerves come together. Membrane, stenos tissue and ... So it ripped open. Nerves just spilled out of her like angel hair pasta. Spinal fluid flowing out of her, and I ... and the terror was just so ... crazy. So real. And I knew I had to deal with it. So I just made a choice. I'd let the fear in. Let it take over. Let it do its thing. But only for five seconds. That's all I was gonna give it. So I started to count. One ... two ... three ... four ... five. Then it was gone. I went back to work, sewed her up, and she was fine.

Jack was cut, presumably from his fall from the plane into a bamboo grove, and he asked Kate to stitch him up. Kate can’t understand why he seems so calm…so unafraid. That’s when he goes into the story of his first surgery, when he realized fear is a choice.

Worst episode so far IMO. Far too little happened. Kate's backstory only told us what we already knew. Echo still dead. It'll be slightly interesting to find where john and sayid went first, and what the scripture means, but otherwise fairly crap.
Jack's double cross was always coming, nice of him to screw over Juliet though. The whole love triangle, again is getting old. At least we know the complete truth now. Dissapointing over all. Especially having heard that this was meant to be the best episode ever.

I normally would agree, but I genuinely thought they would kill sawyer. Was only after they didnt kill sawyer that I realised, hey, they'd never kill him!

Actually thought they might kill him too.. just annoyed me in the end when they didn't though. The guy had about ten minutes to pull that trigger.

Also, I'm sure I just missed something, but why is the guy with the gun so pissed off with Sawyer? I take it there's a reason, but compared to the last few episodes it seemed to have been blown out of all proportion for this week alone.

I take it Sawyer killed his wife or something? When was that?

Think Sawyer was eyeing her up at one stage though.. and Pickett just seems to have a very short temper.

Oh right, so I didn't miss anything.. and it was just another convenient plot device :-/

I don't think everything is over regarding the love triangle. I know that Kate is aware that she's on an island and can't go far, but she when she was saying that she couldn't leave, it almost sounded as if she couldn't leave without Jack. I reckon that if it was Jack in the cage then she would have had dirty, sweaty, wet but clean shaven sex with him instead.

Another thing that occured to me was how willing Sawyer was to just let himself die. At this point, they've only been on the island for about 3 months? And in this time they have set up an efficent camp on the island and they are certainly in shape to be there for when the emergency services get there. Yet all of a sudden he's lost his will to live after a few days with the "others".

I find it a little hard to believe, although I suppose I could be reading into it a bit too much. This is the show which has a plume of black smoke making groaning noises after all!

    Season 3 you mean?

It's all a possibility, but I still reckon it was a decision taken by the producers to ensure that the sex was in some way sexy. Or perhaps Kate didn't want to leave her armpits unkempt for a few weeks

I thought that it was excellent, first time giving anthing a 10. I must be in good form tonight.

The back story was quite good. She looked beautiful in her wedding dress and she really did love Kevin, but the fear made her leave.

The part at the end was very tense and emotional. That feeling of love, he would die for her, her for him. I presume she said "can't" to Jack instead of won't because they are on another island, not because she loves Jack.

By the way maybe they gave her a waxing kit with the dress, it was kind of see through.

Spoken like a man who's never shaved his armpits! It's like facial hair, if you shave in the morning, you'll have a shadow by the evening. The next day, there's regrowth. After 3 or 4 days, it's desperate. One really needs to shave. Unless they also provided her with a beautician on the first day who waxed Kate's armpits. Then there wouldn't be regrowth.

Hey, I don't mind the gaps, the slowness in answering questions, the weak episodes... I need something to complain about!

Talk about a disappointing episode. Especially after the brilliant episode last week. What did it tell us? Ziltch! The only 2 half interesting bits of the show was when Locke saw Eko's Jesus stick and the reference to Jacob.

And what a terrible cliffhanger. Was Danny ever going to shoot Sawyer? No! He's way too important to the show. Is Jack going to let Ben die? No! Same reason as Sawyer. Is Kate going to try to escape? No! Where does she go? As for the love triangle....... boooooooooooring. Kate is hot, there's no doubt about that but I'd much rather see her with Sawyer than whinging Jack.

6/10 (which is the worst I've ever given) :(
