Hopefully Aldi will do an even better deal soon and with more units per shop!

Aldi did their version of this machine about a month ago afaik:eek:

I burn avi files as data to CDR and DVDr's using Nero. I also burn avi's as dvds using nero without your problem.

Are you doing play back on a PC ar on a standalaone divx player?
using a stand alone silvercrest KH6057 dvd/divx player, lidl sold these in the past,
I use nero as well when burning:confused: .

hi sofaking I have played numerous avi files encoded in xvid and divx (varying versions) I have played mpeg2 files in it, mp3 and wma

Going to grab some mkv files from a hdd and try them on it. It didnt read my hdd as it is in NTFS might grab a spare drive and format it in fat32 and see what happens. It read my usb key (512mb)

Thanks for the info, Ronan. Sounds great.

Hope there's some left in the Gorey store :/

I've been reliably informed, that the Pottery Rd, Dun Laoghaire store opens Thursday - they'll probably only have new stock but it might be worth a look for the dvd player for anyone who lives nearby.

Been looking for the code to make it multi region - Besides the one that was already posted I could only find this one

Open tray and press 2812 on your remote.
You can change the Region at this point
Put the Region to number 9 to play everything.

    (To SofaKing)

I unpacked it over lunch... It's a nice enough little unit... it's fairly wide but has very little depth to it. The tray feels very flimsy though, and the remote is a bit on the tatty side too.

It won't recognise my USB key. I'll have to look at the formatting on it.

But it does play dvix files very well off CD anyway.

When reading off memory keys etc does it allow for folder navigation or does it just play sequentially ?

This player will not read usb hard disc drives. Manual says only usb keys up to 512mb will work, not what i thought it would be. The Aldi drive was much better.

Does the drive not need to be formatted as FAT32 ?

Tried in Liexlip.. no joy.. will try Mullingar tomorrow evening... doubt it though.... anyway if it does not read off a usb hard drive then im not bothered. That was why i was going to get it.
