    Ok, a few things.

    1) Believeing that the govt. should tightne up immigration procedure does NOT make you racist. You MIGHT be labeled as a hypocriete considering Ireland's past and the emigrants that left these shores for other lands.

    2) Thinking that immigrants are only here for social beneifts will make you a racist. I work in an office where we have two poles and a lithuanian working in the warehouse, and apparently they're like horses when it comes to getting work done.

    3) Fish supper in the paper - excellent line!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I take it then that by your rationale, if there were no foreigners in the country, all those problems would disappear because all those jobs would be filled by Irish people?
and when my sister can't get a job in the local restaurant, despite having experience, and is told it is because she is demanding too much money (€9.50 per hour), when there are plenty of foreigners who will work for less!

more likely what would happen is that those spars and directory enquiries would close down because no-one wants to work there. There's plenty of work for everyone in this country. If there are foreigners who will work for less, fair play to them, if they can survive on it. would it be more acceptable if it were IRISH people willing to work for less?

why does it bother you? Are they in your way? are they dropping litter? Or are you just worried that they are all talking about you in their secret language

and i saw 3 FOREIGN GUYS COME OUT OF THERE! If the irish government is handing out the dole to anyone who walks in to the country they are bigger spastics than i thought!

are you on the dole? if not, what difference does it make to you? There is an election coming up, are you going to stand, so you can change the system? or are you just going to bitch about it for the rest of your life.

    And whose fault it that?

It's the greedy rich IRISH twats, that's whose fault it is.

The rich get richer and are finding even more vulnerable people to exploit.

And moving abroad to another country, undercutting the existing wage structures is something we Irish are specialists at.

I can't stand coming onto a good honest to jaysus Irish website and getting bombarded with this kind of verbal slop from people who can't even type in English! What the hell were the 800 years of oppression for if we're going to soil the English language with lazy efforts behind the keyboard. Cromwell would be rolling in his grave! At least the foreigners have an excuse for bad English, someone who has lived here and been processed by the education system should at least be able to make their point clearly in the primary language of the country!

    ;)

    Seconded.

By saying "I'm not racist, but" you're saying I'm not racist but I'm about to say something racist. In which case you can just leave out the "I'm not racist, but" at the start of your sentence. It's just a way of softening up a statment.

For your statement in post one you say

"I am just pissed off that i cant walk down the street without seeing a million foreigners! "

I don't think that's racist. Daft, yes, but not racist, so there would be no need to put the "I'm not racist, but" to defend yourself before the sentence. It's just your opinion. One that probably means you must hate going to any foreign country.

Doing a quick Google of the statement brings up some interesting links.

Now I'm not thick but I can't think of anything else to type.

So you're fine with the black and chinese people who are born here? It's just the first generation you have a problem with? That makes great sense.

How'd you think the Chinese-Irish got here in the first place? Their parents or their grandparents had to come here at some point.

I mean I was in Canada all summer working myself but I just don't like when this sort of immigration begins to affect our national identity.

And that doesn't strike you as remotely hypocritical? What does a Canadian look like? What's their national identity? Could it possibly be made up of immigrants and foreigners?

As for pepper, you really are racist. No buts about it.
But if that's what floats your boat, get on with it.
21, eh? I graduated from university with a degree in chemistry few years after you were born. Everyone I knew had to leave the country because there were no jobs here, you can't remember those days, but it seems to me that you need a little education in the way economics work.
People who have no jobs leave the their own country to go to where the jobs are. That's it.
If you don't understand that, then you're snookered

If you're going to make a point at least make an effort to do it in the language of this country's people, don't be acting like them nasty foreigners, next thing you'll be wearing baggy pants and putting a baseball cap on sideways

Aha! So we've figured it out - you're just insecure about yourself because you think you're underqualified and that the renowned work ethic of the Polish people will mean you're going to have to work harder yourself. That's your problem bub - don't be blaming the Poles if you're just plain lazy.

Yes, I imagine that to be correct.

Well technically all the jobs that would be filled in that situation would be filled by Irish people. However in the current economic climate we need immigrants to fill jobs because they're just aren't enough Irish people to sustain growth of this level.

So if all foreign people went home tomorrow then the Irish economy would collapse and we'd be back to the 80s with mass unemployment and the government advising the youth to leave the country to find jobs.

You type like an American would speak. How does that make you Irish? Define Irishness to me. How does your clear Americanism make you more Irish than some Chinese dude busting his ass for **** pay in a Spar if you both speak with foreign accents? Do you base nationality on the colour of someone's skin?

If all the foreigners disappeared, there would be no one to do the ****e jobs Irish people are too fancy to do these days.

Man, the xenophobia in this country makes me want to leave again.

And as an aside, it's all the greedy "Irish" businessmen that are more than happy to pay a foreigner a lot less than they would an Irish person. Now who's fault is it that we are in this situation?
