How would you manage to be Scottish without being British?

Personally, I would go for Swedish. Damn fine women, and damn fine poker players there.

Sometimes I feel left out for not being like, Israeli and Jewish or whatever...I wanna be a chosen person too :(

Failing that....I'd honestly have to say Irish. Good country, when all's said and done.

I love Ireland, but New Zealand is looking awefully grand. Skiing in the mountains of the south, basking in the sun in the north, sailing about the clear blue Pacific, and a chance to work Fx in Wellington.

If by some bizarre twist of fate were to wake up tomorrow and be a citizen/denizen of another country (other than the one(s) you currently are) which one would you like it to be (and which ones would rather it hadn't been)?

    Me personally I'd like
    Germany or England

and would dislike it to be
    USA or Northern Ireland.

Theres alot wrong in this country but its great to travel places and look at the reaction on the locals faces when you tell them that you're not English you are in fact Irish. Their whole personality changes. Thats just my humble opinion.

    Spaniard: You are British?
    Me: No, no, Irlanda.
    Spaniard: *shaking head* Much better

Happened in Murcia City last summer. I guess it's a good thing. :/ ! :)

If I couldn't be Irish, I'd probably kill myself, but if they managed to revive me in the hospital I'd be a Jewish New Yorker. I could kvetch all the time at klutzs and go "yadda yadda yadda" and have loads of brown-eyed smart-assed kids and eat matzos in bakeries at 4 o'clock in the morning :D
(Although I wouldn't be best pleased about giving up sausage rolls).

New Yorkers aren't really classified as Americans, are they?

    Greek.

So, everytime someone asked me when I was gonna do a job I'd say 'Simera (tomorrow)', and go back to my early morning ouzo and swinging my worry beads.

Yeah but we're getting more obnoxious and up our own arses about it with every passing year. Nobody likes a big head and Pighead estimates that within 10 years the perception of all things Irish will have changed for the worst. We were better when we didn't realise how great we were.

Oh and Pighead would like to be from Oman where the Pig is sacred.

Hmm, maybe French cos I love the place, Italian New Yorker for the sole reason as mentioned by someone else I wanna be in the Mafia, oh and the food as well. Wouldn't want to be English, becasue as a big footie fan I would be hated by all other nationalities.
