yea they sold out fast. I had bought two desk fans and went to back to buy a third the following day and they were sold out had to get a different one.

The Electronics store beside the UCI coolock sells them as well (Forget the name).

Its not that we all hate every kind of weather, its just that there is an equal share of people who hate cold to the amount of people who hate heat. Come winter time, all the people who are lapping up the sunshine will be complaining about the cold, whilst the rest of us will be enjoying it.

I personally hate the hot weather, I think i'm very thick blooded or something, as my body doesn't cope well with getting rid of heat. I don't sweat alot so thats probably the problem. I've only ever really felt comfortable in my own skin in -35'c weather in the Canadian north, taking 10 minute walks in my shorts and tshirt (any longer and the tingling turns to sheer agony) At least with cold weather, there are simple and effective means of heating up (i.e. fire, put on more clothes) whereas in this heat once you are down to your skin thats as cold as your going to get. I usually have a cold shower as often as I can in this weather. Plus its not only that its hot and sunny which I don't mind. Its that there is no breeze and a high humidity also.

sitting in my living room and sweating like a pig is not my idea of fun.

i was at the dentists earlier and the fan in the waiting room was my only source of relief.

    i absolutely hate this heat.

last summer i swore that i would never complain about the cold again. i didn't.

i don't like having to shower and change three times a day.

walk to the shop, home, shower.
    make lunch, shower.
    move two inches, shower.

i blame america. (shut up. at least i'm not mblaming the brits any more.)

I LOVE THE HEAT!!! please people, stop complaining about it. Soon it will be gone and we'll all be freezing our shivering blue asses again...

    I love the heat. But...

The heat that there was that other thread about 3-4 weeks back with sun, blue skies, sea breezes, was great (you know; the one where all the moaners turned out in force), but this current wave of dead contiental air hanging over the east coast is oppressive.

It's probably not even as hot as it was last week, or the other time a month or so back, but with no wind and 80%+ humidity that heat tends to just sit on top of you.
I happen to do a physically demanding job and where I am at the moment doing it, it's akin to being in a damn oven....I really feel sorry for anyone stuck in places like kitchens or similar.

I love the heat, love the summer, but the old dead stale air associated with the last 3-4 days has just got to go. Apparently it will have by friday.
I'm on holidays next week; odds oin favourite that it's bucketing down on monday morning :D:(

do you enjoy stale humid conditions ?
if it was dry heat with a nice cooling wind , let the temp go to 30 - 33 degrees , but this stale stuff , where the temp doesn't drop at night , i can't enjoy , just makes me tired .

Currently living in Boston and its been in the high 80's and 90's for the past few weeks.

Thats about 27 - 32 celcius I think... then theres the humidity.... oh holy god the humidity

Thanks god for portable AC though.... got a unit in my window. Keeps the room like an ice box if I need it :)

i hate it, we're irish damnit. we moved this close to the artic circle for a reason! :D

ok being serious i do think its gone on a bit too long and the whole not being able to sleep or even have a sheet over me in bed is getting old fast.

i think the funniest thing is now the gov (see. RTE) are rolling out old farts to try and convince us gardens dont need watering. heres a hint lads when grass is straw and not green it needs water :D what always bugs me about these campaigns is i cant see macdowel and his mates turning off their state of the art sprinkler systems.

and you have to admit its too warm to walk about in the day now, still that said its lovely to go for a walk in the evenings now. i mean hell its after 8 and its still lovely and bright out with just the right amount of a breeze out

    Would you rather -30C?:p

@Squall, Im currently in IL and we are having similar temperatures. My pale Irish skin can't take much more of it. :(

What the "oh you'd be complaining if it was cold/raining" brigade conveniently forget is that there is such a thing as a happy medium. Yeah, I probably would be complaining if it were cold/raining but that's because those are extremities - just like the current temperatures are extreme (I know it's hotter in loads of places but it's still too hot here for me). I don't see why we should have to enjoy it when it's unbearably hot/heavy, the bus/Luas reeks, my workplace doesn't have air-conditioning - girl at work fainted today, my bedroom is like a ****ing greenhouse, I'm getting hit by constant waves of exhaustion, my energy is sapped, the sweat is pouring off me. We're supposed to enjoy it just because it's sunny. So what if it's sunny? The heat/stickiness cancels out whatever pleasure there may be to derive from the sun shining. I love when it's sunny - it makes the place so much nicer, but it can be sunny and a number of degrees cooler. I actually think people who find this **** enjoyable either have something wrong with them or are lying or aren't working.
    Bring on the cooler weather...

That's just the point. We're not complaining because it's sunny. We're complaining because it's unbearably hot and sticky and it's making us miserable. No problem with the sun being out - in fact, bring it on. I love the sun. And it can be horribly sticky when it's dull as well - hate that too. Would much prefer it to be sunny - but a few degrees cooler.
40 degrees? Hell would have no fury like me in that climate.

:D Fair point. But there are people who insist we shouldn't complain about it as if we can just make ourselves enjoy it.

    Honk!!

Living in the Netherlands for the last 6months, they give out about it raining there so much, I had never seen so much dry weather in the spring!

Home for a week now from there, last day there it was 37degrees and humid, I basically sweated day and night, 28degrees at night, just really unpleasant all of the time:mad:
First time in weeks I was cold was in the frigid AerLingus plane going home!
25degrees? Heat? Give me a break! Although it all goes by what people are used to i suppose, Im getting the chills if a breeze starts up at the moment:)
