Well, I'm assuming everybody is watching the last episode back in the emerald isle. Unfortunately, I am not there but managed to obtain the last episode from "my american cousins" ( yeah that sounds plausible) .

Anyhoo, I thought the episode was very good.

Dont wanna really spoil anything for ppl that are watching and looking @ boards at the same time but for me it answered one or two questions, ie the button, the plane crash.

It also raised a few more.

Not as good as the last seasons finale but I'll be tuning in for season 3.

    Enjoy it.

Agghhhhh! That ending is them looking into the hatch times a thousand.
It was ok, but I can't help thinking it would've been much better had RTE not sliced it in half.

Yea I was thinking the same thing...

Great episode though - can't wait for season 3.

Agreed.. monster mistake on RTE's behalf!

As you may or may not read in the US discussion thread, i enjoyed the finale overall but i did have problems with the ending of the episode - didn't like the idea of a cliffhanger more or less solely on the shoulders of someone who was first introduced in the same episode.

But some great stuff other than that... Locke's "I Was Wrong" line, Henry's apology to Locke etc.

    Great ep. 10.

They have such dodgy science, though.

    Dissipating the charge?

Good thing the series is over. Getting a little sick of it.

PS: They were Italian, in the snow, right?

    link to american thread?
    Episode was class.

Did anybody else think that when there was a hatch in the snow, that eko, locke and desmond were in it,ie that violet light fired them off?

Henry apologised to Locke? Don't remember that.

I'm looking forward to season 3 as I always prefer the others and it looks like it'll focus in on them more. And they hate Jack.

I thought this was good, better than average, but nothing like a climax should of been.

what was revealled and tidied up was very god , locke/desmond mostly, but every episode should really be this revelatory. I understand that the whole storyline was written and complete and the studio requested further series, and thats how it comes across, filler weeks of flashback, and only occasioanl movement in plot. the flashbacks can be good, but building characters is not going to satisfy peoples curiosity re the "whys" which is after all the premise of the show.

The final scene I knew before/as it happened and i was not paying total concentration.

I would predict the next series could in the end be reduced to may 3 episodes of "events", and its very clse to jumping the shark

Michael came across today as a very dislikeable person and i find unbelievable the same guy would go to such extremes for a newly found son,

I dunno how to do spoilers so hope its ok to mention the "Jack/Kate" thing - reminded me of old action hero movies and i Liked that, like the humour ,
just really reall bored of the filler

I thought the episode was brilliant. It answered questions and borught up new intruiging ones. We discovered: How the plane crashed, what happens if the button isn't pressed (WOW) and they resolved the Michael/Walt storyline as well.

I still think the momentum was broken by splitting the episode into two parts but maybe RTE will learn by their mistakes.

Overall it was extremely satisfying nad much better than last years finale which in ,y opinion was way too dragged out over 3 hours.

Fantastic ep. A 10. I thought the whole episdoe was great. We learnt a good deal regarding the button, Desmond's character was fuly explained and we were left with the following questions:
    1. What is "Jack's Plan" regarding him and the others? And why did they decide to let Hurley go?
    2. Did Desmond kill himself and Eko and Lcoke? If not, what appened to them?
    3. Whats the deal with Desmond's girlfriend? Hope they don't leave that story in the air. I want to know what she's at?

I hope we get answers in a reasonable amount of time "COUGH" but they probbaly won't answer them to season 3 finale~!

    ROLL ON 2007!

Oh I see. It's all clear now.

Except for just a few things............

    *deep breath*

But why did they take Walt?
What were they doing with him?
How come the island can't be found?
What is Desmond's chick looking for?
If she's looking for him how come she knows to look for electromagnetic activity?
Those guys are in the Antartic - how far are they from the island?
What are the Others up to?
    What are Dharma up to?
What do they want with Kate, Jack and Sawyer?
Are Locke, Eko and Desmond still alive?
What was the black smoke then? huh?
If the plane crash really was an accident, what's with all the mad coincidences?

People need to realise that if they answer everything at once then there would be no show. Producers have said they have a 5 season plan and everything will fall into place. The X-Files answered everything at one point and fans were left with about 4 years of nothing once storylines were wrapped up.

Suprised noone has mentioned the hatch falling from the sky onto the beach at the end.
Was it blown up into the air and came back down or is there some other kind of hatch up in the air (OK impractical seeing as the plane would have hit any roof type structure but then again this is lost !!!!)

So TV3 cannot outbid them in the future for the rights. RTE have probably paid a lot for Lost in this contract to have this exclusivity. Anyway whether RTE have the rights for 7 years its up to ABC in the US to decide Lost's future.

Could the smoke be iron filings in the island's magnetic field?

At least we now know that there's life outside the island, and the Earth's magnetic field is still there.

I personally though the eposide sucked. Perhaps I was expecting more to be revealed, how foolish of me - would be no 'hanging in there' to series 3.

I thought it was more of lets make a run for it. I would take my chances in the water, gagged and hands tied.

If the 'malfunction' brought down the plane then why didn't the boat move. I know Desmond did his thing, but before that. Also what happened Locke and Mr Ecko and why was Charlie making such a joke of it all?

So Fenry is the Boss and I think that they are rebels against Dharma. I am also guessing that Penny's father somehow is responsible for all of this and that is why she knows where to look and what to look for. If she knew he was on the island, then she waited to see how long he would give up his task and return to her. Confusing or what?

I love Lost but how long do we have to wait for more answers, 2, 3, 4, more seaons. Going off to read the US link. Have been waiting two God damn weeks for this, thanks to RT bloody E.

No I meant the smoke that Eko came face to face with earlier in the series. It never really re-appeared. Didn't it rip the pilot to pieces?

Great episode, but frustrating ending! In true Lost fashion, answer one question and ask another hundred. I really enjoyed the plane crash revelation, thought it was excellent.
Not even going to go into a big rant (maybe I will on further reflection) but suffice it to say I'll be waiting impatiently for Season 3.
Wow, now I can read all US threads for another few months :)
