Well it's not even my account, I was using a friends who is still in colage and I'm not the only one who used it. And he understandbly doesn't want to have 15+ phones bought off it!

Maybe start another thread in after hours or maybe wanted mobiles/general? Prehaps even the education forum, should get a few in there?

\edit In the intrest of fairness any other thread should be made into a queue, I know p~b would be at the head and then others as they posted through the thread?

the cards cost 12 euro so you could maybe pay students to get the cards or something?

Still can't believe what a bargin this phone is for voda customers.

possibly best value phone ever, provided it turns out to be reliable in the long run. Always like my sharp phones though...the gx20 was one of my favourite phones ever :D

Just ordered it with my younger sister's travelcard ID.

Didn't see on the vodafone website the stock levels.
    Where was this?
Previous posters were able to check if it was in stock or not.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 642 ✭✭✭red_fox

It only tells you if it's not in stock, and it does't tell you until you're about to enter your credit card details!

Dont blame me if it doesn't work.

Obviously you dont get your credit but its still a bargain. (Sell the credit to an existing vodafone customer)
where do you get the nck code? (ie the unlock code)

Ok i'm tired and i got the phone but alas no sim

why? i presume upgrade,i don't have an 087 sim so where does it leave me as far as credit is concerned?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,297 ✭✭✭Ri_Nollaig

You'll have to go into a vodafone shop and pick up a sim pack, I think they're only like 10e with 15e credit, you'll then be able to get the 80e on that as well, so it's hassle but you don't lose out.

*edit* This is what you'll want, but there's no advantage ordering online if you can get to the shop.

Like IRONSIDE2005, if anyone has a student travel card ID that they are happy to share with others, I'd very much appreciate the number been PM to me.

Edit: Elites, we both posted at the same time. I agree with you it's a long shot, but no harm in trying.

Jaysus i shall be ordering one of theese me thinks, A few questions though, may seem like nitbits but theese crack me up on my current phone(samsung zv 10)

Whats the actuall battery life like? dont give me the hours they give on the vodafone site but how long it lasts you usually withot havin to charge.

Can anyone post up a vid and a pic by the phone?

Where can u get the usb cable for it and how much?

Can u store your vids and pics in alphabetical order, it takes me ages to find pics on my phone now and its prob the most annoying small thing about it.

    Thanks, Barry

Most people just got the phone in the last few days, so it is unlikely anyone can answer that for you unless someone has had it a while. The vodafone site claims it will last 3 days between charges on standby, every other site has said around 15 days. It remains to be seen which is right.

I don't know about a usb cable, but you can pick up a bluetooth dongle in Argos for €15.

Anyone unlocked this handset yet? Google only leads me to the copy/paste thing above...the unlock code is I assume, something that you have to purchase but I can't even find a place to d that.
Sweet looking phone, nice features but I'm not using vodafone if they're giving the handset away for free...

Can anyone comment on the battery life?

The site on one of the first few pages mention 270 hours. However, that same site also listed my current phone (SE V800) as 240 hours. Which is about twice the maximum I've ever gotten out of mine.

So does it seem good or will you be charging it up every 3-4 days?

Well i put it on charge last nite at 8pm until 10 pm and used it all day today.its just after shutting down now.
It only gave me 60 seconds warning frrom the low batt alert till shutdown so you need to be quick if youre saving pics etc

~i expected the batt to go sooner to be honest because i was trying to exhaust it using camera,Bluetooth, wap, live tv etc just as a test.I`d say the bluetooth is the power hog in this case...will let it charge up over nite and give it "normal"use to morrow to see how it holds up.
