You people have to remember that Nostradamus was available for all to read: even Hitler etc. If you want to make a name for yourself, fulfill the prophesy yourself!

Fire ball from the sky, twin towers collapse, whatever.
"ok, where do we have twin towers"
    "New York! That's perfect!"
"Excellent..... Call the boss. We need some planes...."

Here is a website about Nostradamus' predictions for the future. It's amazing:

    Nostadamus on the future

Are those black helicopters I hear?

The gist of this link, for those who are not as bored as I, is that the "Antichrist" through diplomatic machinations, and stealth, begins his march toward world domination, a la some Bond villain. The date at which this turmoil is set to kick off in earnest?

    1997/8 or so...

Yeah, Okay, I don't believe any of the Nostradamus stuff but the reason he wrote it all in very vague verse was so that he couldn't be imprisoned for heresy and predicting the future. Back then there was no revolving door system in the prisons :D

No, old Nosy (as he liked to be called) accurately predicted (at least once ;)) that his predictions would get him killed so instead played things close to his chest.

I am curious about the quatrain on the "island of Scotland". The original "Scotia" was Ireland, before the invasion of Caledonia in the 5th century. IS this a prediction about us?
Under the land of the round lunar globe,
    When Mercury will be dominating:
The isle of Scotland will produce a luminary,
One who will put the English into confusion.
The chief of London through the realm of America,
The Isle of Scotland will be tried by frost:
King and "Reb" will face an Antichrist so false,
That he will place them in the conflict all together.

Nostradamus: Spain Wins the World Cup

    Sports: 20 June 2006, Tuesday.

Prophet Nostradamus had predicted that Spain would take home the 2006 World Cup, media reported.

Reading a new meaning into one of Nostradamus' scripts, Spanish media proudly boasted that their country was destined to grab the title in Germany.

In the end of the sixth month of 2006, the King of Spain will cross the Pyrenees with his army, the prophet says. The legions will win the battle in the center of Europe, and the triumphant king will take the Holly Grail back to Spain, the prediction goes.

Wishful Spaniards were quick to see a much-wanted World Cup win in the words of the 16th century prophet. So far Spain has won its two first games - against Ukraine and Tunisia with the impressive 4:0 and 3:1. Tunisia, however, almost had the Iberians cornered with a goal in the 8th minute. It took Spain's side more than an hour to recover and strike back.

I google searched Nostradamus and Ireland and I found this page which apparently refers to comments about World War III and the coming of the Anti-Christ. Here's where Ireland comes in:
    g. The Antichrist invades Britain
    ===

    I p 230 (cII-68)

In his European campaign the Antichrist will attempt to overtake
Britain, particularly to seize its naval forces for further advances.
England will resist and initially fend off the advance, with support
from the U.S. However, it is likely that the Antichrist will
eventually overcome England and the more passionate members of the
underground will flee to Ireland and Scotland. The Antichrist will
not succeed in overtaking the entire island. North England, Scotland,
and Ireland will not succumb, possibly aiding the reunification of
Ireland to fight the Antichrist. Patriotic and stubborn Irish and
Scottish spirit will play a favorable role in turning the tide.

    G'wan the Irish! :D

I seen a documentary a few year back, in August 1999 I think...........when he predicted the world was to end might I add! (so how could he predict the twin towers for two years later??) in a great world war, the 'yellow race' was to over run the world....or something to that effect, haha.........yeah.

Anyway, they looked at his writings and said that there had been grammar changes over the centuries which today had given his writings slightly different meanings, they looked at his prediction of 'Hitler' and his 'stretching of the boundaries of his country' when in reality all it was was some dude from that time with a similar name to Hitler enlarging his forest! haha.

The documentary was good, this weird guy was on it talking, he was saying that on August the 19th '99 he was going to book a hotel in Cornwall overlooking the ocean, watch the sun set and wait for the end of the world, hahaha, wonder if he's still there!
