Shabadu has a point here. The same racist ****e over and over again. Where are the moderators, don't they give a stuff?

I've already banned a couple of people, is that not enough? But please, feel free to point out where we're not doing our job.

    No worries giblet.

    So, traveller resentment in ireland?

I expect after the nazis bombed dublin in world war II, and general bad stuff is said about nazis after their attempt to commit genocide of gypsies in the death camps of nazi germany, then people of ireland don't like germans much.

I lived in germany for the best part of a decade and never remember meeting a bad german person, all very polite, sociable and well adjusted people, running their country fairly reasonably.

Because there is a perception the nazi germans of the past were bad feckers, then they are still characterised in bad terms, but if ireland generally dislike travellers, surely they must like germans who were trying to eliminate all the gypsies in death camps?

Maybe ireland would want to incorporate "the final solution" here for the travellers if "not in my back yard" is not enough.

Instead of bitching, come up with some ideas. What are you going to do about yer hassles with travellers. Surely they can't be that bad if there is no great movement to get rid of them, or the whingers would have got off their asses already.

Unfortunately, any practical ideas are usually instantly rejected as racism or simply dont fit in with the demands of a sub-culture to which a naive governemnt blinded by political correctness follows its every whim.

Limerick eh? Hmmmmm Sorry, couldn't resist.
There's one thing people never seem to realise about travellers - a lot of them look & sound so much like the settled community you don't notice them.....
    Good points all.
Because there is a perception the nazi germans of the past were bad feckers,
True enough. The fact is any group of humans, indeed humans themselves are capable of abhorrent behaviour at worst, or apathy in the face of same at best. It takes surprisingly little to bring that out or force that out. Germany being a good example. A highly cultured educated bunch who by the late 30's gave tacit permission for some of the worst atrocities in history. Ireland would be no different. If the jackboot was on the other foot, it would not shock me how many would give up their neighbours.

Sadly true, for the most part. Solutions, not rabble rousing on both sides would be nice.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

Pubs in Wicklow Town might be getting fined for closing their doors when a traveller funeral was on one day. They knew what happens so they purposly locked the doors on them while secretly allowin others in a door around the back. My friend was supposed to work in one place that day but was told he wasnt needed as they werent opening

For once, I have sympathy with publicans in this case. They are in an automatic lose, lose situation. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

If the Travellers are allowed in en masse, chances are they will drink excessive amounts and a faction fight will break out.

If the publicans refuse entrance, then the Travellers have to the police station, scream "discrimination", and get a couple of thousand Euro each.

Once upon a time, if you did'nt want to serve a customer for any reason whatsoever, you refused. That was the end of it. Now, legislation is being prepared by Ministers and politically correct lackeys who have no clue about the reality of the streets. These are the same idiots who thought "Love Ulster" was a good idea, and that Unionists could walk the streets of Dublin, without taking into account the very nasty tracker skanger element that exists in settled Irish society.

    Just for example.

In Gorey, Co Wexford, extra police are drafted in for the annual patron (Blessing of the Graves), in the last weekend of August. Its hardly because the travelling community are known for their love of tiddly winks, playing scrabble, and a talent at winning monopoly. Its because of.........answers on a postcard please..............

And the pubs stay closed until one hour after the cars have cleared the streets.
