Rage Against the Machine played down in Tralee before they were famous,

like Pumpkins, Metallica and Nirvana in Dun Laoire, in some little venue, when they were just kids...

It was the Top Hat in Dun Laoghaire and I was at the Metallica gig which was fantastic.

    Oh and they werent kids!

On that note, what is the story with the Point?

I think I first heard the rumours about it becoming a shopping centre about four years ago.

Metallica - are graet live and thankfully stay away from their crappy stuff in the 90s (load, Garage inc...etc) but they do play the two good songs from St.Anger (u kniw which ones there were only 2 good ones, the rest was ****)

Alice - i love this band but minus 1 member...hrrmm, i dont know. Guy from tool is going to fron them anyway.

KoRn - meh,it'll be something to do i suppose.

the rest, well i simply dont care much abou them.

But if the gates open at noon i'll be there quite early (since the previosu years people turn up at 6 and 7 , when gates open at 4pm!!)

Actually to correct myself and you:

    http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk/news/index.asp (scroll down to Alice)

    and to quote:
Legendary grunge outfit Alice In Chains are joining the incredible names for Download’s line-up this year, with original guitarist Jerry Cantrell taking over the vocals from the late Layne Stanley

    From The AIC mailing list
    http://sdm3.rm04.net/servlet/MailView?ms=NDk5MzAxS0&r=MjQ0Nzk4NTgxMgS2&j=MTM0MzcxNTUS1&mt=1

We also have some exciting news for fans who will be catching AIC live this summer in Europe. William DuVall has been named as the band's lead vocalist for their European dates. However, he won't be doing this job alone. So expect to see some very special guest singers helping him out.

Jerry Cantrell will of couse also be singing (as always) but William DuVall will be singing Staleys parts.

I'd be pretty sure it'll disappear as soon as the Luas gets there........he's been trying to get planning for a fairly big development down there for years.......don't know if it's been the amount of local objections that have been stopping it.........he never puts a penny into it (mind you there aren't too many venues that have money spent on them over here.......

I never believe anything they say, just pointing out that he keeps on harping on about it......but with the bands knowing this is the place to earn extra cash everyone wants to come here, you'd think for their own sake they'd provide facilities for bands that would draw 3-5 thousand people, too few for the Point, too many for the other venues.......

It's definitely DuVall on vocals for AIC - with the possibility of additional guest vocalists......

Sorry, just heard it somewhere, since my mates Dad was in a bar after the gig, and they came up to him for a lighter or something, and he didn't know who they were but got talking to them, and got a signed picture of them at the end, with C.Burton autograph too,

and Senior.D.D i heard that rumour to, but it's meant to be knocked down and re built for a newer updated venue...
